About this listen

Thanks to an unexpected inheritance, Jackie Strauss is the newest homeowner in her small town’s nationally renowned Christmas lights display. Her luck continues when she finds out this year’s event will be filmed for an upcoming documentary. Jackie’s do-it-yourself prowess and creativity will finally get the exposure she needs to land her own DIY series.

It’s all within her reach, as long as she can stay focused. It seems simple enough, until stupidly handsome and dangerously charming Scott Davis turns out to be her cameraman. How can she focus on work and ignore Scott–the man she had a brief (but fiery-hot) fling with back in the day?

Scott has career goals of his own, and they don’t involve staying in town beyond filming. And yet, there’s something about Jackie he can’t resist. He never could.

*This steamy holiday rom-com has it all: an ornery cat, quirky family members, small-town holiday festivities, a ride-or-die bestie, multiple Richard Simmons mentions, and an HEA that's sure to melt hearts. Can be listened to as a stand-alone, connecting novels are coming in 2022.*

Intriguing

Really great book, love the characters. Drama, humor and very active. The narration was very well preformed. I would recommend this book.

Fun Holiday story

This is a feel good read with well developed characters. The story line and the humor pulls you in and keeps you smiling from start to finish. The narrator did a wonderful job in distinguishing each character.

Jackie and Scott are adorably cute as they try to hide their relationship while documenting the construction of Christmas lights. Toss in nosy neighbors and a cat better known as Dad, and you have a cute fun read!

Fun Listen

This is a fun one! It's a great friends to lovers with some 2nd chance vibes. I loved the entire cast of characters this is nothing better for me then a small quirky town filled with eclectic people and this has all that and more. Narration really made it an even more enjoyable listen for me.

Cute Second Chance Romance

This was my first experience with Leigh Donnelly's work, and it was entertaining. Jackie and Scott had a brief fling and then their lives took divergent paths. When circumstances brought them together, they found that the old attraction was still there. The story was cute. The characters were fun. There were some steamy moments. Cassandra Medcalf's narration was entertaining. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

She can't "Ignore Scott" 😉

I really enjoyed this book! Second chance romances are definitely at the top of my favorite list. Jackie and Scott had a fiery one night stand and meet again years later as a participant in a documentary film about a neighborhood that loves Christmas and a cameraman. The sparks are still there, and she can't "Ignore Scott". Loved the small town setting and the story. I listened to the audio version. The narrator was new to me, but did a great job. I was happy to see that Jackie's best friend has her own book in this series. I'll be picking up that one soon.

Cute and enjoyable with a little sexy

Totally enjoyed listening to this love story. It was sweet, with some hot scenes in it as well. Laughs, and smiles made it a happy story.

Who is Richard Simmons??

You can't ignore Scott! He's far too cute.
But that's the directive Jackie Strauss gets when she's part of a neighborhood-wide documentary about the annual Christmas Lights Lane decorating extravaganza. After inheriting her aunt's home on this quirky (crazy?!) street, Jackie hopes her involvement in the months-long documentary project will boost her DIY career.
Other than the bizarre Richard Simmons (I had to look this up -- who is Richard Simmons?!) references, this is a fun and sweet romp. And I adore Scott. A book boyfriend I loved hanging out with.
If you like coastal kitsch and Christmas rom-coms, you'll very much enjoy "Ignore Scott".

The Milton Women - book 1

A sweet with some heat, small town, second chance romance read / listen. Well written and narrated, this romance is holiday themed and an absolute delight to listen to. Our main characters are Scott and Jackie who had a one-night stand in High School and then went their separate ways but with fondness and maybe some what if's questions when looking back. Now they are reunited due to a documentary they are both involved in and the chemistry is there just like on their one night together. Some communication issues as well as self-doubts may keep these two from finding their HEA. I think my favorite parts are the dynamics with secondary characters - Jackie's bff as well as her mom and cat Tom made for some great humor throughout the listen. Overall a great, multi point of view listen that will warm your heart!

fun listen

This book is such a fun (and funny) read. I really liked the characters and the story. Especially the cat - would have loved to see more of him in the book.
The narrator did a good job with the book.
