Publisher's summary

From the author of the National Bestseller A Paris Apartment comes the story of three women born generations apart and the mysterious book that brings them together.

I'll See You in Paris winds together the lives of three women born generations apart, but who face similar struggles of love and heartbreak.

After losing her fiancé in the Vietnam War, nineteen-year-old Laurel Haley takes a job in England, hoping the distance will mend her shattered heart. Laurel expects the pain might lessen but does not foresee the beguiling man she meets or that they'll go to Paris, where the city's magic will take over and alter everything Laurel believes about love.

Thirty years later, Laurel's daughter Annie is newly engaged and an old question resurfaces: who is Annie's father and what happened to him? Laurel has always been vague about the details and Annie's told herself it doesn't matter. But with her impending marriage, Annie has to know everything. Why won't Laurel tell her the truth?

The key to unlocking Laurel's secrets starts with a mysterious book about an infamous woman known as the Duchess of Marlborough. Annie's quest to understand the Duchess, and therefore her own history, takes her from a charming hamlet in the English countryside, to a decaying estate kept behind barbed wire, and ultimately to Paris where answers will be found at last.

Light read, annoying protagonist.

Light read, requires very little brain power to follow. Cute but expected ending. Felt more like a screenplay. Protagonist was a ditsy and flighty character that was annoying to read at times.

Sweet Read

Sweet read. Enjoyed reading the book; however, it was not one of the best I've read. It was enjoyable for a light-hearted read.

I'LL SEE YOU IN PARIS

Where does I'll See You in Paris rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the lower ranks. Hard to keep the time, characters, straight.

What did you like best about this story?

The elderly woman, she not only was a "kick," but a real person!

Which scene was your favorite?

When the girl professed her love for him. No spoilers!!

Who was the most memorable character of I'll See You in Paris and why?

The matron of the manor, not only was she real, but sooo interesting!

Any additional comments?

Had a hard time keeping past, present, and characters straight???

Curious and Aggravated

I had hope for the positiveness of the story to continue. I was deeply disappointed as the story made no sense as far as Charlie and life choices evolved. This 180 degree turn was not only obnoxious but it made no sense. Thus I end up sadly disappointed with the Charlie aspect of this book. We're I the publisher I would have demanded a rewrite. I'm sick of abuse glorified. There us nothing noble about it,

The duchess taught me a lesson

I know what it's like to be an orphan, but sometimes someone comes along and helps you complete your education, build a life that is contributing to society, but finding love in the end is a fairy tale.

Nice twist

It had a great twist to historical fiction. Had to keep up with the year changes and what was happening in history.

Don't waste your money
.
Story poorly developed

Story dragged on and on and really did not get interesting until the last two chapters. Narrator wa awful.

Kind of Ho-Hum

Maybe it was just me and that I could not listen to much at a time, but, this story left me unimpressed. More tension and intrigue are what I look for in an audiobook. Maybe actually reading this book would be better...so I could quickly get over with it. It just took forever and was boring.
