Critic reviews

"In Plain Sight, second in the DI Clare Mackay series, echoes the themes of See Them Run, Marion Todd’s debut crime novel: vivid sense of place, strong female lead, authentic police procedure." (Claire Macleary)

Okay buy not as good as the first

The main story was good. Some nice twist. could almost believe this was a real case. But the sub-plot of the main character fit really pathetic. Don't know why these writers find it necessary to do this and alot of them do. They take a good character and turn them into a pathetic B****. Won't listen to any more of this series.

One of my favorites

I love Marion Todd’s books.
I love the characters, the narration by the author, with that fabulous Scottish accent, the stories, everything. She has become one of my favorite authors.

Very very good book

I have only found Marion Todd recently. Which it had been sooner. Gripping story with a lot of character building. Loved it.

Good story

I enjoyed the twists and turns. I also like that is doesn’t have gory violence but has a gripping story.

Loved the Scottish accent.

Straightforward story although I did get some of the characters confused. Enjoyed the fact that it’s not set in a large city.

Narrator seemed bored

Narration was mechanical, and had a bad echo; especially in the 1st half. Irritating.
Story? So-So.

Enjoyed thoroughly…

I respectfully disagree with other reviews that dislike Marion’s narration, I thought it was wonderful. I have enjoyed each of the previous installments just as much and look forward to the next.

Professional narration is needed!!!

This series has great promise, however the narration is not good. I enjoy many of the characters, the storyline is engaging, but the narration is killing it for me. I wish these authors would understand that they should leave the narration to the pros- it makes a world of difference.
