Assists with Sleep - Results Still Pending
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I do like this audiobook for falling asleep and getting better quality sleep. The jury is still out on the efficacy of the hypnosis and affirmations during sleep. I have yet to lose weight while using this program, but would assume this takes a fair amount of time.
If you’ve listened to books by Joel Thielke before, how does this one compare?
I have listened and really like other audiobooks by Joel. This one is a bit shorter than the others. When I listen to this book, my quality of sleep improves significantly, as evidenced by my FitBit monitor compared to days when I do not listen to these audiobooks. However, this is not a criticism of the book but a significant concern about the Audible requirements and copyright disclaimer. At the end of the audiobook, while I'm still solidly asleep after listening to the relaxing white noise of oceans, nature, and a soothing voice, at the end of this shorter audiobook all of a sudden a loud booming Audible voice comes on that startles me awake EVERY time. If it were one thing I would change about this audiobook would be to remove that interruption at the end of the book. The other recommendation I might make is to make the book longer in order to allow for a longer sleep cycle before the loud booming voice interrupts a deep sleep.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narration is great, its the closing Audible announcer at the end which is highly disruptive.

It seems to be helping me become more motivated and determined... But there are a lot of other factors. Extremely soothing voice guides me to sleep and works on my subconscious mind

Wakes Me Up
What disappointed you about Increase Metabolism and Lose Weight Fast, Guided Meditation and Affirmations (Sleep Learning System)?
The beginning induction to relax is great, afterwards, it's downhill.Second or third narration, his voice changes, sounds like a pedophile or some creepy man. That woke me up.I wake up throughout the first hour because his narration is really inconsistent (voice including), music also wakes me up. When I finally sleep, the music becomes haunting and I wake up to turn it off.Overall, music needs to change (first priority). Narrator, second.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Joel Thielke?
Female voice (North American accent).

What didn’t you like about Joel Thielke’s performance?
He goes through the relaxation too quickly, I wish he would start at the top of the head and work his way down. The music he played actually woke me up. Then some that followed I liked, but I had to get through the parts I didn't like first.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Increase Metabolism and Lose Weight Fast, Guided Meditation and Affirmations (Sleep Learning System)?
I would have had him do more relaxation and not so much talk on the weight part. I want to lose weight but this tape sounded like you had to lose over a hundred pounds. I just want 10 pounds.
Any additional comments?
I want to try his golf tape and I'm a little skeptical on buying two and not being happy. I wish you could return something that you aren't happy with. The sample was so short, and it had want I mostly wanted. I thought it would be good, but it actually made me more anxious about sleeping.

How is one meant to sleep through this?
The ridiculous music kept waking me up! I tried it on a few different occasions thinking it was just me. It wasn't, they continue to pound on a dissonant chord that is hard to sleep through. I am an avid mediator and kept wondering if I was being "punked"!
