Publisher's summary

A hundred million on-line players with thousands of choices, but everyone knows there's only one game: Infinite Reality. When a judge declares it a monopoly, the co-creators become competitors and then very quickly become murder victims with one thing in common: they were all online when they died. Everything points to the sole-surviving creator, Atticus Arching.

When the FBI can't find Arching in the real world, they send Agent Daniel Roan and his team to the other side to track him down, only to find out that the game is more than just a game and Arching is more than just a computer programmer. He's the most dangerous person in two worlds and can kill in both.

Not what I was expecting

If you could sum up Infinite Reality in three words, what would they be?

A super story. The book started out slow, but really got interesting toward the end.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Infinite Reality?

I liked all the moments where magic was used.

Which character – as performed by Brian Callanan – was your favorite?

I liked Roan. He seemed to be a confused character who did not realize he was confused.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The first time that Amanda died and came back to her body, just the way it affected her.

Any additional comments?

This was a lot better than I thought would be, so don't give up on it.

Wow what a proverbial page turner this was!

I love LITRPG. This one blends real world action and online action in a really amazing way. Murder investigation pits a team of agents against a digital evil mastermind who is killing with impunity in both the virtual and real world which shouldn’t be possible. The game mechanics are awesome the characters are well developed and the narration was spot on. Can’t wait to get more in this series!!!

exciting gaming fantasy

My first book from Mr. Meredith. Picked it up because of Mr. Callanan, one of my fave voices and he did a great job to the point where I could 'see' the story and immerse myself in it. My fave voice is the one he gave the Infinite One. I hope he will be also narrating book 2.

An interesting story mixing reality with the virtual gaming world, some mystery, suspense galore, many fantasy creatures, following an FBI team into the virtual world trying to uncover the mastermind behind the deaths of major game developers.
You might find it even more enjoyable if you are a gamer or being around gamers, but if not, that should not stop you from trying something different. I am looking forward to book 2.

Great entry to the LitRPG genre

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I really liked this story. I liked the blend of real life and game world in the story. I thought the premise and game mechanics were intersting. There is some requirements in this story to suspend your disbelief, but most LitRPG stories require that. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and think all but the most picky LitRPG purists will enjoy the story. The narration is well done and really brought the story to life in my imagination.

Just a heads up

Somehow, a completely different book from another author is listed as the second book in this series on Audible.com

Great idea, not so great execution

I've never played a RPG so that's going to affect how I view books about them, however I've read a few now and I have to say that the game in this book was particularly good, I'd actually be tempted to play if it was real. The other highlight was the narration, the character voices were well done and the delivery was smooth and matched the book well.

The rest of the book was a bit of a let down, the characters just didn't work for me in multiple ways. I couldn't believe that the FBI would send in those four people for an online investigation, seriously? Two of them have never played before! They also seem to be totally lacking in common sense, I just can't buy it! Plus the characters just came across as a bit flat and underdeveloped. There were detailed descriptions of the game that made it seem real, but the same cannot be said for the characters, it's like they popped into existence on page one and no one bothered to give them histories.

There's lots of fights, enemy's pop up all over the place, and there's lots of questing in the game, that part is certainly entertaining.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
