About this listen

They were the perfect couple - but not all is as it seems.

Young married couple Gabriel and Chloé have a picture-perfect life. But when athletic Chloé suddenly drowns, Gabriel is left to grapple with the mysterious circumstances of her death. Brokenhearted, he pours out his grief in a bereavement group and is consoled by photographer Emma. While the two grow closer, Gabriel can't help but feel Chloé's presence everywhere he goes. And as revelations about Chloé slowly emerge, he begins to wonder, is Emma really that different?

From prize-winning and bestselling author Amélie Antoine comes a dark and evocative novel that will keep listeners guessing until the final moments - will Gabriel be able to move on with Emma, or will the mystery of Chloé's death consume him?

Great

The story takes a twisted turn of events with a surprising end. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a psychological story.

Good beginning

This book started out great! But the twist was plain weird and I couldn’t get past it. Very odd book. Definitely now worth the read.

Wow!!!

Definitely not your run of the mill book. Completely unexpected twists and turns. I liked it from the beginning but then couldn't wait to see how it would finish. So refreshing to read something truly original!

A Good, Hard Look and Society and Our Issues

This is an excellent story that delves into the obsessions of modern society. It explores the many emotions we face, especially the ways and reasons we mourn. A must read!
The NARRATORS did an EXCELLENT job of conveying the emotions throughout this story!

Great twist to this story

The writer tells the story from the perspective of a drowning victim and her grieving husband, whose dedication begins to waver as facts about his wife before her death begin to surface. The narration is strong, and I love the twist at the end.

I didn't see that coming...

I had no clue where this was headed. I didn't know if I would be able to enjoy it bc it changed directions so many times but in the end it was all worth it.

Intriguing

Very interesting, thought provoking, then the unsuspecting twist. A good read for the Summer months.

Odd. Implausible.

I realize logic doesn't apply to fiction, but legality does. What begins as a rational novella devolves into a situation that cannot possibly be legal under any circumstances, which the author employs as a "twist". At this point all buy-in ceased. I continued to listen, but honestly... I'd stopped caring, as the ending was pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Short rollercoaster ride

I've been interested in this book for a while but the summary and low reviews always deterred me. I finally listened to it and I was very, very pleasantly surprised. The book is full of ups and downs -- from dull to intriguing and fast-paced to slow-- and all in the best way possible. Every single time I was almost unimpressed or I thought I knew what would happen, I was immediately steered the other direction. The times where I felt disappointed in the story line for seemingly plateauing with all the potential to make a great story -- the author does just that. The premise might be odd but get past that and follow the character development and you will be surprised. There were some gaps and extra details that ended up being irrelevant, but the parts that were used made up for it. There are about 3 big turning points in the book and each time my jaw dropped in shock. It's not the best mystery suspense thriller, but it does have more twists than other higher rated books. An example off the top of my head is the book, Dead Letters by Caite Dolan-Leach, as a whole it was a good piece of literature and extremely long, but with little to no excitement or suspense; and this book, Interference, was far more riveting and interesting. For "shock value" or a quick thrilling ride, I do recommend this book. I gave it higher ratings than I wanted to because overall it deserves to be accordingly rated.

A book with a fantastic twist.

It was good, not fantastic but good. I was kinda bored with it until the entire book took a upside down and a 180 spin then the book became fantastic. I recommend listening to this book, it's a chick flick but still good.
