An Instant Bestseller!

The New York Times | USA Today | The Globe and Mail | The Toronto Star

New York Times bestselling author Tarryn Fisher delivers a pulse-pounding, fast-paced suspense novel that will leave you breathless. A thriller you won’t be able to put down!

Imagine that your husband has two other wives.

You’ve never met the other wives. None of you know each other, and because of this unconventional arrangement, you can see your husband only one day a week. But you love him so much you don’t care. Or at least that’s what you’ve told yourself.

But one day, while you’re doing laundry, you find a scrap of paper in his pocket—an appointment reminder for a woman named Hannah, and you just know it’s another of the wives.

You thought you were fine with your arrangement, but you can’t help yourself: you track her down, and, under false pretenses, you strike up a friendship. Hannah has no idea who you really are. Then Hannah starts showing up to your coffee dates with telltale bruises, and you realize she’s being abused by her husband. Who, of course, is also your husband. But you’ve never known him to be violent, ever.

Who exactly is your husband, and how far would you be willing to go to find out?

And who is his mysterious third wife?

“Nail-biting, heart-clenchingly good.”—New York Times bestselling author Alexandra Torre

What a story!!

I don't even know what to say or how to review this book. I expected a story that was a bit off the rails but The Wives was off the rails and was set in fire! I am beyond floored. The first 50% of the story was a nice set up and showing you this nice neat box. Ha! Tarryn Fisher must not like nice or neat because she took that box and played basketball ball with it and then set it on fire. Everything I thought I knew, I didn't. I mean, woah!

The narration by Lauren Fortgang was amazing. She portrayed Thursday to a T. Her narration mixed with the way Mrs. Fisher writes was stunning. It came to life. Just a very messed up life that will shock all listeners!!!

Wow that ending!!

What an amazing book. It kept me on the edge of my seat anxiously awaiting what was coming next from page to page. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something would happen that totally changed my mind. Then that ending! That was something I never saw coming. I absolutely loved this book and definitely recommend it. Lauren Fortgang did perfect with the narration and putting sound and emotion to the characters.

Not what I expected!

I loved the premise of this story. I do wish the author had continued the original story line in the last part of the book. HOWEVER, it was a twist I would have never expected. A lot of people are whining about how the main characters mental health is used as a scapegoat for some things but seriously,,,, get over it. It makes for an interesting and unusual story. Though I would have liked to have seen how the story would have played out, I can't discount the fact that I was thrown for a loop multiple times and really could never guess what was coming. Isn't that why we read psychological thrillers in the first place?

Wow! What a book!

I was so anxious to see how this story would play out. I tried to figure everything out along the way. The ending had my jaw dropped to the floor! I really enjoyed listening to this. Only took me a day and a half, which is a lot quicker than normal for me. It had me drawn in from the start to finish.

Pure Genius!

From the second I started listening to the book I was captured with every word! All the mystery surrounding the husband and the other wives had me enamored with this book. I found myself knowing exactly what was going on just to find out I had no idea! I latched onto what I thought was happening and at every turn I changed my mind. The writing was beautiful and the story itself was mesmerizing. I want to say so much more but I refuse to even give one bit of mystery away. After hearing this on audible I bought the book online. This is a must read!! It isn’t often that a story gets to me and I felt almost hurt when it was over, wanting the story to never end! I feel like the author could very well come up with another book to basically let us know where all the characters are but then again that would ruin the mystery of it all. Knowing the end yet not knowing. Feeling sympathy for the main character but also knowing all isn’t as it appears. Great read, would recommend to literally anyone who loves mystery, thrillers and even domestic stories and broken families. This book was fantastic and I imagine I’ll read it again.

Also wanted to note that towards the beginning it feels a little slow, just keep with it, it picks up and takes you on an amazing journey!! Bravo

Okay book

Engaging at times, but dragged at others. A large part of the story involved listening to the main character’s perspective of her relationship with Seth and the other women. It got a bit redundant at times listening to her go on and on and I think the author could have done better in that regard. It’s otherwise an easy listen, helps pass the time, but not a must read in my opinion.
