Story
For decades the practice of manifestation has been widely dismissed as self-involved, materialistic pseudoscience. But as neuroscientist and recognized compassion leader Dr. James Doty reveals, manifestation introduces us to different possibilities, and it lays the groundwork for a kinder, better world. Doty grounds us in the practices that change our brain structures: attention, meditation, visualization, and compassion. This mind magic allows us to move through the world in ways that help us see clearly.

Story
In a field known for startling ideas, the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) of quantum mechanics may take the prize. It holds that parallel to our own world are a large number of other universes, almost identical to ours but with small variations. Copies of each of us inhabit a myriad of these worlds. But they are not us exactly; they share our past history, but they are different people who have unique futures. Although these realms are invisible and can’t communicate with each other, prominent physicists are convinced they must exist.

Publisher's summary
The award-winning New York Times best seller that inspired BTS' K-pop song 'Magic Shop'.
The day that 12-year-old James Doty walked in to his local magic shop is the day that changed his life.
Once the neglected son of an alcoholic father and a mother with chronic depression, he has gone on to become a leading neurosurgeon, based at Stanford University. He credits Ruth for this incredible turnaround: the remarkable woman he met at the Cactus Rabbit Magic Shop, who devoted the summer to transforming his mind and opening his heart.
In this uplifting memoir, Jim explains the visualisation techniques Ruth taught him that gave him the self-esteem to imagine a new future for himself. He examines the science behind mindfulness and why the skills he learned - of focus and attention - now help him to think fast and keep calm in the operating theatre. And he shows us what is possible when you start to change your brain and your heart. Into the Magic Shop imparts some powerful life lessons about how to live better and inspires us to believe that we all have inside us the capacity to change our own destiny.

Pure magic.
I read this book a few years ago and James’ story was the catalyst for my life completely changing. Ruth and James’s magic has stayed with me every day since I first laid eyes on this special book. Four years down the track I was craving the comfort of the words and teachings of Into The Magic Shop. Thrilled to stumble across the Audible version, I was pleasantly surprised to find the narrator’s voice soothing and appropriately expressive. He also does a convincing job of conveying James’s emotions and his passion for Ruth’s magic. Although I have read James’ story many times, it still brings me to tears. This book and it’s teachings is like a warm, gentle, life changing hug. I am so grateful for it. I can honestly say it possibly saved my life.
