Publisher's summary

The nice guy next door was hiding a dark secret - a homicidal obsession with young girls. It didn't end until his final victim, still bound in handcuffs, escaped while he slept. She recounted the details of a night of horror spent with an elusive serial killer. Neither family nor friends saw Richard Marc Evonitz's dark side - he saved that for his victims - until his double life came undone by a courageous, resourceful 15-year-old.

The authorities had questions about many unsolved cold cases, but Evonitz had one more shocking surprise in store for everyone. Into the Water is a cautionary tale about the vulnerability of our children.

Dlisappointing

What did you like best about Into the Water? What did you like least?

I felt that this was more a series of case histories, almost a documentary.

Would you recommend Into the Water to your friends? Why or why not?

No, not particularly entertaining. A bit like reading old newspapers.

the voice over

the voice over is dull. it's started to sound like the adults in Charlie Brown. wah wah wah waaah. I think it could've been an interesting book had it had a more interesting narrator.

Could have been great

A good story was ruined by far too much of the author! Unnecessarily wordy. The author seemed to get lost in her descriptive explanations, when just the facts of the story would have kept the reader on track.

worst narration ever!

I have seen reviews through the years where people complain of the narration and always thought it odd because I had never ever run across that problem. but here it is! his cadence was horrendous and when he tried to express emotion it was like a robot was doing it. I couldn't make it past chapter 12. It finally became like fingernails on a blackboard and I was done. I wanted to find out more of the story but NOT through him!

Performance a killer

This performance was so poor it affected my ability to follow the storyline. I may actually read the book to learn the story since listening to this audio version was "painful" to say the least. The presentation was dull, lifeless, and the monotony of the man's voice was irritating..
