Join the coauthor of the world’s best-selling psychology textbook in exploring the secrets of human psychology.

Understanding our thoughts and emotions is essential to living our best lives. From infancy through old age, psychology affects our relationships, achievements, and sense of overall well-being. In this compelling audio course, Professor Nathan DeWall equips you with powerful tools that can help you achieve self-knowledge.

Psychology is a science and uses the same methods as other sciences. But there is a big difference: many psychological topics are difficult to evaluate and measure. Some of our most valuable qualities - self-esteem, memory, emotion, thinking, personality - seem ineffable.

Through Prof. DeWall, you will get a backstage pass to many of the mind’s mysteries, including why some people are prone to depression, why some therapies work while others don’t, and why some romantic relationships succeed while others flop. By understanding psychology as a science, you will have a better understanding of yourself and the world around you.

In this engaging 24-lecture course, Prof. DeWall takes you on a wild ride through the mind. Incorporating vivid case studies and psychological research, the lectures challenge you to reconsider what you think you know about the mind and offer practical tools to improve your daily life.

Listen today for an in-depth look at the human mind and its profound mysteries.

Great listen--really gets you thinking!

Although I came into this course with an introductory knowledge of many of the topics DeWall covered, my knowledge of psychology was greatly enhanced by this course. Perhaps in part because he is a leading psychology textbook author, the material is incredibly up to date, even including examples related to COVID-19! DeWall clearly has a great love of his topic and his enthusiasm is infectious. You'll learn a great deal that will help you better understand yourself and those around you.

Fantastic course!

This course is very simple, concise and easy to follow. Nathan is a natural speaker who balances storytelling, data, and personal experience to really convey these basic psychological concepts. I highly recommend this course for those interested in self-help and self improvement. Not only is the information educational and interesting, it is very applicable and useful in todays world. Honestly I wish that I could've had a course like this 20 years ago after spending lots of time and money on countless self-help books!

Great Course

A great overview of the basics concepts of psychology and a good refresher. Updated from the last time I took psychology 101 in college and the instructor is clear with concepts and terminology.

Nearly perfect course

Professor DeWall packs a huge amount of information into this lecture series. You learn about how the brain and sensory system works, how we learn and remember, what motivates us, how we can understand behavior, personality and more. I think that he draws from personal and other real world examples. I wish I would have had professors like this in college.

All Content (No Filler)

It's rare to find an audiobook that's over 10 hours long and has no filler segments. But, that's the case with this excellent intro to psych audio course by Nathan DeWall. I knew of DeWall from reading his high school and college level textbooks, but hearing him explain concepts in his own voice was refreshing and really brought the concepts alive. This is a great primer for any student taking AP psych, or any one who's generally interested about what makes humans tick.

Great teacher

I think if I had a professor as good as DeWall for my intro to Psychology courses in undergrad, I may have wound up going into the Psychology field. He is very interesting to listen to and you get a very good overview of many facets of the field!
