About this listen

This program features a new introduction read by Daniel Goleman and a bonus dialogue between the author and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

It is the tenth anniversary since the first publication of Daniel Goleman's groundbreaking bestseller, Emotional Intelligence, which maps the territory where IQ meets EQ, where we apply what we know to how we live. Spending over a year on the New York Times bestseller list, Emotional Intelligence provided the evidence for what many successful people already knew: being smart isn't just a matter of mastering facts; it's a matter of mastering your own emotions and understanding the emotions of the people around you.

Great!!

This kind of information needs to be taught in High School or College. It has taking me many years to understand what he covered in this 1 book. Why not give the Kids a jump start. God knows they need it.

Horrible narrator

This book is worth reading. I personally could not get past the narrators voice. Sounds like an automated robot reading. Awful. Just do yourself a favor and go buy this in paper book and get a highlighter while your at.

Sound

Excellent book! However, the last few chapters narration kept cutting off. It was difficult to keep up .

Understand your emotions

This is one of those books you will accidentally quote or reference in your own mind in almost every social situation. Daniel Goleman provides an alternative view to what most would commonly assume about successful people and their social habits. He then elaborates on how or emotional interactions can shape and mold our brain structure. I find Goleman's idea's and writing's endlessly fascinating and would recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding people in general.

Great book, narrator like a robot.

I loved the book, it was really hard to get through though because the narrator was really monotonous. I did learn a lot though.

Great / interesting information,robotic narration

The information is quite interesting and thought-provoking

however while it's not hard to understand the content it's difficult to multitask because you have to focus on the narration because it sounds very robotic and less like someone is speaking to you
