About this listen

When Sean O'Brien watches a girl darting through traffic to pick up money she dropped, he stops to help. The next time he sees her face it's during a TV newscast. She's vanished. As the case grows cold, Sean can't forget the touching story she shared with him. To find her, he must enter the dark web, infiltrate a global criminal ring, and outwit one of the sharpest and most inhuman minds he's ever faced in a battle where the girl's life is reduced to a matter of days.

Tom Lowe books

I started reading Tom Lowe about 3 years ago. I really like mystery books. I have not been disappointed by him! The way he inserts characters into the story and them builds them in the story.

MARVELOUS BOOK!!!

I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. Alex Knox did a wonderful job of narration and making all the characters individual. You never had to guess who was talking. The story is magnificent. I never lost interest and listened constantly. I can't express enough how much I recommend this book. But start with the first book in the series. It builds characters throughout.

Wonderful series!!

This is the 13th book in the Sean O’Brien series. Each book can be listened to as a standalone however I suggest listening in order. Although the personal relationships in this series are secondary to the main plot, there is development that I prefer listening to in sequential order.
In this book O’Brien meets and helps out a 13 year old girl. Later that same day she is kidnapped off the street. He begins a journey that will take him over two months to solve. No sooner does he begin searching for the girl that he finds her kidnappers… dead. Each time he starts to make progress he hits a road block.
This book deals with human trafficking of young girls and boys. Although not explicit there are some scenes involving the sexual abuse of children. For those instances I am glad this is a work of fiction. Unfortunately I am also aware that these brutalities occur more often than I would like to think.
Alex Knox does an excellent job narrating.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION.

Great

Like being with an old friend. The author and reader are both excellent…a tough subject but super ending

Not Up To Standards

As a devout fan of Sean O'Brien, it pains me to say this particular outing just did not hold my full attention. The story itself was credible as Sean embarks on rescuing a teen that has been abducted by a sex trafficking group. What bothered me was the dialogue was stale and somewhat preachy at times. Having read or listened to all of the O'Brien novels, I could not wait for this one to end. There was nothing wrong with the performance by Alex Knox. He just did not have great material to work with this time around. Here's hoping that the next outing will be better. Much, much, better.

Like Listening to a FEEBI Commercial

Sheesh you would think the script had FEEBI input. Gushing over the burea that invades American homes. Gave up!

Quite blasé

A lot of boring chit chat. The conversations added nothing to the story. Let’s just get on with the story.
