About this listen

Number one German best seller

"I have no idea how late it actually is. We flew off somewhere this morning, and my cell phone automatically turns off the clock if we're getting close to a new time zone by plane. Mile by mile, the bus pushes through the inner city. Budapest seems to be quite big. We are in the middle of rush hour traffic. As it is Friday, everyone wants to get out of the city very quickly. But nothing works quickly here at all."

Flake, the legendary keyboardist for the German band Rammstein, takes listeners on a journey of what it is to be a touring musician. The excitement, the boredom, the moments that will be remembered and those that are forgotten. It's the World's Birthday Today is a strange and moody book about life on the road.

An excellent story telling

Flake’s ideas are interesting and the way he sees the world resonates a lot with me. As a long time Rammstein fan it was amazing to finally hear details about some of the origins of specific songs from the creators perspective not to mention insane stories that happened with the band while on tour. I also have to mention that Shaun did a great work as the english narrator except for a few German words here and there that were pronounced weird, but if you don’t speak German, it will not ruin the listening experience.
Overall the book is a must for any true Rammstein fan. I strongly recommend.

I loved this book!

I'm a fan of Rammstein and this book is a great insight into the band. I realized that Flake and I have lots in common. The book is written with humor and it is easy to listen. It's very entertaining! I highly recommend! Rammstein inspired me to learn German language. Narrator is very good too! He pronounced names very clearly.
P.s. Herr Flake, please hurry up and write another book soon!

Better than I Could Ever Imagine

It was awesome hearing the voice in Flake's head. The random thoughts and experiences he's had are fascinating. I love the stories of the interaction between the band members and the clear affection he has for them. If you're a fan of Rammstein, please listen to this book. I was also impressed with the narrator. He gave Flake's words a voice and personality. Bravo!
