About this listen

What if the greatest threat to Christianity in America was American Christianity?

As the Church has become increasingly entangled in the pursuit of politics, the Gospel has become tarnished and often abandoned as the primary focus of the Body of Christ. Jesus Untangled is a prophetic call for the Church to awaken from the "American Dream" and to return to her first love. Because, as the author powerfully demonstrates, you can't convert a culture that has already converted you.

Well written

Well written, however I do not agree with his premise that Christians should note participate in the voting process. That old adage is true if we are not at the table, we are on the menu.

Yeah, ok, but…

I love the ideas in this book, but I went in already believing that there is no king but Christ. I will suggest this book to friends and family, but with a warning of cringy theological interpretation.

Every Christ Follower in America should read this

incredibly convicting, deeply challenging. I started it with a "convince me" attitude. He did. I have been more in love with my country than my Savior and it stops now.

best books I've read regarding faith and politics

When I first encountered Christ He introduced me to a whole new world and mindset, I was deeply affected by His love and mercy.
Yet as I turned my gaze back to the world I know all too well but now with a brand new perspective.
I naturally sought out other believers in Christ for support, while I was very encouraged and to this day still continue to be encouraged by these same fellow believers, I also faced much confusion as well.
Not necessarily from the people still of this world, but from Brothers and sisters entangled in this world system.
Don't misunderstand, we all are entangled, I'm very entangled.
All of us in Christ are in our own journey towards a better understanding as we are being aligned with our teacher and Lord Jesus Christ.
I feel as Paul declares in Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.

Keith Giles in his book Jesus untangled makes a very strong case for the roll the life of a Zitizen and ambassador of Heaven should play in this world to better resemble the qualities of our future Homeland.
While reading this book you don't have to agree with all of Keith's conclusions to be able to see a vast difference between Westernized Christianity and Christ.

this is one of those must read books for everyone in Christ, you will be challenged and enlightened by this book, my challenge to you is, search the scriptures as you listen and follow along

Everyone should read this book.

In this book Kieth Giles does a great job pointing to Jesus as the way and shows why our allegiance to him shouldn't be shared with any country.

A must read

The best argument from scripture that proves where our loyalties need to lie; with our one and only true King, Jesus.

Challenging

Challenging the current mindset and status quo. I've felt this way for quite some time and he stated it very well. I wish I had written the book! Don't approach it with a closed or narrow mind. Allow his message to ferment and sink in.

THE TRUTH!!!

This book is the epitome of the REAL TRUTH about Christianity and statism. Statism and nationalism are idolatry! No King but Christ!!!!

Challenges what you think.

First half I was in agreement with. Last half contained things I have never heard of before. Will be reading the Kindle version next to see if there are references backing up his claims.

Had to return it

Even though I agree about Christians having Christ as King of King and not being entangled. He seems to not understand that Christ gave the law to Moses and a King without his law is just another guy with an opinion.

He also conflates Old Covenant with the Law that was added 430 years later. It's the difference between a car and a stereo added later, they aren't the same thing. Heb 8 and Jer 31:31 say that the law was moved from outside to inside

Hebrews 8:10
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Jesus said not to even think that he will abolish the law... until the earth passes away. That has never happened.

I'm also not fond of him quoting a heritic.
