Publisher's summary

"The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite." (Jules Verne, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea)

This Jules Verne Collection will carry you away to underwater adventures, will take you deep inside the earth, and pull you on a journey around the world. Are you ready to travel to faraway lands, to be tracked by the authorities, and to encounter prehistoric monsters? If you are ready for adventure, then join us along with the protagonists of each of the three stories in this collection of science fiction and surreal tales.

In Story 1, Professor Aronnax and his counterparts meet up with an exiled captain traveling the seas. In Journey to the Center of the Earth, Story 2, the narrator encounters unimaginable situations as he journeys deep within the earth’s core. Story 3 takes Phileas Fogg Around the World in 80 Days, facing adventures and challenges of his own as he rushes to return to London and claim his duly earned bounty. Lastly, Story 4 encompasses and shares the life and inspiration of the author of these adventures, Jules Verne.

You will be drawn into the surreal world that Verne depicts, which offers the listener a glimpse into the future while traveling back into time. You will see how Verne’s influence on the literary world has spanned nearly 200 years, and why he is considered to be the second-most translated author in the world.

Adventure awaits!

A science-fiction buff, I always love a good story that captures my attention with adventure, mystery, unexplored worlds, heart pounding experiences and uncertain endings. This collection of stories gave me all of that and some. Although they were all written during a time to which I cannot relate, I was captivated by the detail in the storytelling. I could feel myself travel beneath the sea. My heart raced as the characters encountered prehistoric monsters. I was enthralled as each of the characters faced a new adventure, pushing my own imagination to the limits.

I truly loved listening to this collection of stories and will look for more collections like it that will grab my attention and stir my emotions.

For anyone looking for adventure, The Jules Verne Collection will carry you away from the reality that plagues you today to a world that is as complex as it is simple. Adventure awaits you!

I was originally looking for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, but when I found this I had to get it.
Production quality on this is also great. Narrator speaks clearly and had me captivated from the very beginning.

A Very Entertaining Bundle of Classics

The classics will remain classics, that goes without saying.

The narration is the most important element to these classic stories, and it was very well performed. I like to compare the audio samples before picking, and I’m happy with my choice.

The narration is well paced and pleasant. I throughly enjoyed the narrator’s character development and I felt that he helped the stories come to life.

This large collection is worth the listen.
