Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes tales are rightly ranked among the seminal works of mystery and detective fiction. Included in this collection are all four full-length Holmes novels and more than forty short masterpieces—from the inaugural adventure A Study in Scarlet to timeless favorites like “The Speckled Band” and more. At the center of each stands the iconic figure of Holmes—brilliant, eccentric, and capable of amazing feats of deductive reasoning. By his side is Dr. John Watson, his steadfast assistant and our trusty narrator. This set is a must-have for every discriminating bibliophile and Sherlock Holmes fan.

I need an index of where the stories are otherwise you cannot argue with the greatness of Sherlock nor Simon Vance's performance. The True Mystery is where to start

Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course I love Sherlock. But a great thing about this edition is that the books are in chronological order, which makes it easy to distinguish between the crisp analytical Sherlock of the late 19th century and the more philosophical moralizing Sherlock of the 20th.Have you listened to any of Simon Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The reader was perfect for the part.Case of the Glowing Review

What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?
Simon Vance captures Victorian England superbly, as I've recently learned in his work in Dickens.Well read!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to be better than the print version?
Yes because if you had just read it you wouldn't have gotten to listen to the great narration by Simon Vance.Any additional comments?
I probably would rate this closer to 4.5 but as you know you can't give half stars. I enjoyed most of the stories. There were a few that either I didn't quite understand or fell flat, but well worth the time and credit. In fact, I'm kind of sorry it's come to an end.Tip: If you just download one part at a time you might want to download the next part before you finish as many times the parts were split in the middle of a story.
Great collection of stories

If you could sum up The Complete Sherlock Holmes in three words, what would they be?
What a gem.Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favorite?
Although Simon Vance does all the characters well, he has captured Sherlock admirably although I do enjoy the lower class characters voices too (you can actually hear the cap in hand as the ask pardon of the guv).Any additional comments?
Just get it. Simon Vance is an amazing voice actor and his range of character voices is truly incredible. Highly recommended and highly enjoyable!Simon Vance is amazing in all the roles

Would you consider the audio edition of The Complete Sherlock Holmes to be better than the print version?
I dont think they can be compared. This is one of those things that completely changes with every narrator, yourself included. When I read the books, Sherlock has a different voice, my voice. Simon Vance however did a fantastic job, I loved every minute of it. I also love Benedict Cumberbatch's take on sherlock. This is probably one of those things that I will listen to a hundred other versions because its great to hear it from a new angle.Who was your favorite character and why?
Obviously Sherlock Holmes, thats a ridiculous question. You've gotta love Watson, but in the books he is on the dull side. The only interesting character in the books is Sherlock.Have you listened to any of Simon Vance’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to any of his other work but this one was top notch. I will definitely be listening to this again and again. If you could take any character from The Complete Sherlock Holmes out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Again, another ridiculous question. The only reason any of us are listening to this is for Sherlock, this is why "the hound of the baskervilles" isn't that great because Sherlock is hardly in it and Watson is not interesting enough to carry on his own story.Any additional comments?
Great performance. As far as the books go, some are better than others but Simon Vance does a top notch job on all of them.LOVE IT
