About this listen

Betrayed...a month before the wedding!

Kate Blake has just discovered her fiance's double life. She has always lived in the shadow of her powerful politician father. Now she's determined to leave it all behind and reclaim her future...on her own terms.

Her journey of self-discovery leads her to Australia and into the arms, and bed, of rugged Aussie and former brother-in-law, Sean Harris. Surrounded by the untamed beauty of the outback, Sean unleashes Kate's wildest desires. He sheds light on the shadows of her family's darkest secrets. As he peels back the layers of the betrayal, blind ambition, and greed that have clouded her life, Sean finds the greatest gift of all: just Kate.

I've gone through most of Ms. Miller's books now and this was one of the least satisfying. Not much back story to explain actions of the father or sister's widowed husband.

Not Satisfying

I have read this before my eye sight started to fail and I loved it. however the man's voice sounded like a curmudgeon not the sexy guy he was supposed to be. And he sounded angry all the time not the teasingly suggestive voice I had imagined. and accent sounded more cockney than Australian. Everything else was fine.

Aussie accent was as awful as the man's voice.

this is a short story, however, I found it sweet.
there is a lot of sex, but it's a romance. the only negative thing I can say is; it sort of leave you hanging if you prefer all the loose ends tied at the end, I do. But if you have time for a short book of romance, with sex you'll enjoy this one.

short and sweet

This book is definitely not her best work, even for early writing it lacks a lot.

Ok

So I have a copy of this audiobook on tape and I can honestly tell you the reader Nanette Savard should be be banned from EVER EVER doing any kind of foreign accent. Her attempts to read the male part with an Aussie accent are just hideous. She performed the same kind of butchery in In Their Footsteps by Tess Gerritsen- ruining a perfectly good story. I am keeping my copy of Just Kate simply because the main character has my name- Kate Blake. Pick up a used copy and read this one yourself. Story is ok- woman goes to Australia to see her nephew after her sister's mysterious death and falls for her brother in law.

Terrible reader- skip this one!

I read and listen to a lot of books, and it's hard to disappoint me, but this book and performance did. Why in the world does she like this man? And one more quasi-downunder "Shelia" and I might have destroyed my ipod.

Disappointing

This story was trite and boring (at least, the abridged version). I absolutely DON'T recommend this audiobook... not even to Linda Lael Miller fans.

The only thing remotely entertaining about this audiobook was the narration which was SO BAD that I found myself laughing out loud at the atrocious accent and inflections. I've heard several books with this narrator and she's never been good but with an accent she is so horrible that it's comic.

Weak story & horrible narration

I enjoy listening to and reading linda lael miller but this was the worst book I have ever purchased. Just not good...felt like it would have been on the x rated channel.
