About this listen

He’s my sister’s ex, a stubborn jerk, and completely off-limits. Getting a man to give up custody of a son he didn’t know existed should have been easy. Trouble is, nothing with JP King is ever easy. Suave, grumpy billionaires aren’t supposed to have strong hands or filthy mouths, and I never expected our snippy banter to be so much fun.

JP regards me as something he scraped off the bottom of his dress shoe, but when this reluctant single dad looks at my nephew, there’s a softness there he struggles to keep hidden. He may be gruff and uptight, but something simmers beneath his controlled, polished exterior. Sure, I’m wild and reckless, but when we’re forced together as guardians, everything changes. His cold and calculated exterior melts into hushed conversations and lingering stares. The more we fight, the harder we fall.

I’m scatterbrained, unconventional, and everything he’s been missing. The closer we get, the less we understand why we were ever at odds.. . . until just like that our lives are turned upside down.

Good book. I haven’t read the others in the series. This was my first introduction to the author and the series. Easy, fun, lighthearted with a touch of drama. I did guess the punchline pretty early into the book but it didn’t detract from my enjoyment.
Spice was well written and just enough to be interesting and add to the story but not so much that it took away from the plot. 🌶️ 🌶️
Worth the credit.
Narrators did a super great job. The narration for the little boy was EXCELLENT.
Also, no 3rd act breakup which always makes me happy. 😊

Great read.

The narrators gave awesome performances. Stephen Dexter was an excellent choice to portrait the cynical JP! A wonderful story!

5 stars for sure!

This one pulls at the heart strings. JP may be my favorite of the King brothers now. He has come a long way from book one, and proved himself to be a hero. Although I kind of predicted the plot twist in this story might happen, I wasn’t truly prepared for it. So happy that JP Hazel and Teddy got their HEA. Looking forward to MJ’s story. Highly recommend!!

BEST of the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I fell hard for JP, he ticked all my boxes; I loved the development of his relationship with Veda.

Ms. Hendrix drew the reader in with characters that will have you quickly invested in their story.

The connection between them was palpable and it was entertaining to watch as they fell in love.

From the first to the last chapter, I was invested in the story.

The narration by Stephen Dexter and Samantha Brentmoor was spot on. They brought the fabulous story and characters to life with their performances and I found myself listening well into the night.
Ms. Hendrix wove a story that the narrators certainly did justice too.

Great story

This book was so good!! I have loved this series. Each book I finish, I say... "This is now my favorite" and it's true! JP's book I had been waiting for. He's not as cold as people think he is. He's a good person who seems cold and doesn't how his nice/sweet side to. That is until a woman with her nephew shows up in town and claim he's the dad of this little boy whose mom has passed away.

Hazel is just what JP needs in his life to become the much softer man that people need to know. She's a free spirit and a go with a flow kind of person, which he is not! But she brings out sides in him none of us have seen in the other books.

The little boy in this is so sweet... I love that he loves bow ties and is a little bit of a nerd! He's too cute!

There are so many shocking moments in this book!!! Like my jaw dropped open! Lena is the queen of SHOCKING us all in this series! I laughed and cried and also swooned!!

This audio book and I give it all the stars!!! Samantha Brentmoor and Stephen Dexter were fantastic!!

jp king is a god among mere mortals- he is literally a roman statue of perfection. hard as all get out to crack, but shatters under hazels witchy gaze, wink wink. these two were such a entertaining time- i am absolutely enamored with their opposing natures and the duality they hold- yet are perfectly in sync when it comes to so much in their views of life & love. teddy will forever me young sheldon in my brain & he might just be my favorite character of the series this far tbh

oh and alexa, queue no one mourns the wicked- anna’s outtatowner version

stephen dexter and samantha brentmore where the perfect blend of sultry and poised that matched the characters personalities so well! the narration for teddy was so spot on with the quirks and cadence of a child- couldn’t recommend enough

If you’ve been reading this series you’ve been waiting to hear the story about the family fixer, JP. This story did not disappoint. It has all the tension, romance and spice. Definitely tugs on the heart strings a little too. I listened to all the King stories again before I listened to this and I’m glad I did. Will read again.

JP King finally gets his story!

This book was so good! The audio was perfect and made me fall even harder for the characters!

Hands down my favorite Lena Hendrix book to date. Hazel is now one of my all time favorite FMCs. I loved how true to herself she always was! And JP, he’s perfect. His tough exterior with the soft gooey center he only shows her, the best! And Teddy! Cutest quirky 7 year old ever!

This small town series just keeps getting better and this book made me fall even more in love with Outtatowner. The way the women came together & their friendship was everything!

I didn’t expect to get emotional over this book but I teared up multiple times. This story had me feeling all the feels. Ah, I loved it so much!

Amazing small town romance
