Publisher's summary

It's been 18 years since TV crime reporter Andi Hollister's sister was murdered. The confessed killer is behind bars, and the execution date is looming. But when a letter surfaces stating that the condemned killer didn't actually do it, Detective Will Kincaide of the Memphis Cold Case Unit will stop at nothing to help Andi get to the bottom of it. After all, this case is personal: The person who confessed to the crime is Will's cousin. They have less than a week to find the real killer before the wrong person is executed. But much can be accomplished in that week - including uncovering police corruption, running for your life, and falling in love.

Good but missing

The story is good and leads you down several winding roads.

Spoiler**

The main problem i have is that the drug issue which was a significant part throughout the book was not covered in the ending.

Disappearing accents

The story is set in Memphis yet the characters don’t have an accent…well not a consistent one. A southern accents occasionally makes an appearance but people in Memphis don’t sound like that.

Great story

The story is excellent. Nice to have a cleaner mystery. I look forward to more stories, but hope they find some new narrators.

I really enjoyed

great book, enjoyed it very much. sad that this could be a true story. like it says the truth set you free but you have to seek it , look for it , and only then does the truth come alive

Great story! Terrible narration.

Good story. Lots of unexpected twists and turns. The ending was a little too abrupt for me though.
The narration does not do the writer justice. Her performance lacked depth and it did nothing to individualize each character. All the women had the same inflections and speaking tambor. All but one of the men were carbon copies of the other.
Clearly, I enjoyed the plot and the character development. I just didn't like the performance of the narrator. I will continue with the rest of this series because of the characters. In spite of the narrator.

Great Clean Mistery! Worth it to Keep Listening..

At 1st I thought this to be a cheesy mistery. But I continued listening just to see. Her other books are well written & this book is too! Worth my credit & will prolly listen to it again. Clean, no cussing, sexuality & has a tendency to lean toward Christianity.. which I personally always appreciate! Thanks, Patricia Bradley, for another great book! :D

Suspense, Mystery, Intrigue, and who, what, where, and why?

When I saw that Patricia Bradley had a new series coming out I pre-ordered it. I was not disappointed. Joell A. Jacob is the perfect narrator.
I've been a fan and I am really glad I found this one at the beginning. Finished listening today and I now have to wait for #2.
I especially like no sex scenes or language. And Faith thrown in on top!
