About this listen

Helicopter pilot Ellie Porter loves her job. Soaring above the Kakadu National Park, she feels freed from the questions around her father’s suicide and the heavy loss of her beloved family farm. But when a search-and-rescue mission on the boundary of the old farm reveals unusual excavation works, Ellie vows to investigate.

The last thing she needs is her bad-tempered copilot, Kane McLaren, interfering. He's the son of the current owners of the farm, and her attraction to him is a distraction she can’t afford, especially when someone threatens to put a stop to her inquiries - by any means necessary.

Ellie must trust Kane if she is to have any hope of uncovering the truth. Between Ellie’s damage and Kane’s secrets, can they find a way to open up to each other before the shadowy forces shut her up...for good?

Kaka-don’t Sunset: B grade suspense drama

Unfortunately the narrator didn’t help this B grade suspense drama/romance novel, who annunciated each word perfectly that she sounded robotic and made the storyline sound like a B grade movie, like the writing. I liked the romance storyline between the two main characters but the villian/suspense/murder plots where pretty B grade and made worse by the narrator. Not sure why this novel gets 5 stars. Shame, I wanted to get into a new series but I don’t think I will given the narrator and author.

Maladies Sunset

Kakadu Sunset was a fantastic novel. I’ve always wanted to see Australia and she made me feel as if I was there. The story was very interesting from beginning to end. The narrator was a wonderful fit to present the story. I would highly recommend this book!

WTF! all the 5 star reviews for a mediocre book

I just don’t understand all the 5-star reviews. I found the book full of so TSTL (too stupid to live) moments that is made the story farcical and truly unbelievable. The narrator didn’t help the story, she enunciated each word perfectly to the point that she sounded robotic and made the story-line sound like a low grade movie, like the writing. The romance story-line between the two main characters was just OK but the villain/suspense/murder plots very ordinary and made worse by the narrator. Not sure why this novel gets 5 stars. I might have given the second book a chance but the same narrator reads the whole series so I won’t be going back.
