About this listen

Do the small compromises we make daily really hurt anyone or matter to God?

Kate's first case as an FBI agent is nothing like she expected. Posing as an intern at the Texas Capitol, she finds herself spending more time behind the computer than she does figuring out the case. Is Representative Jason Ashbury guilty of a third degree felony or is one of his staff to blame? And how is she supposed to handle the effect Patrick has on her?

Patrick was looking forward to guiding Kate through her first case, but instead he was assigned to Ashbury's home office in Tyler. He cannot figure out either the case or his relationship to Kate. Are Ashbury's dedicated employees covering for him, or the instigators? Will Kate ever let him be her friend, or will she continue to push him away?

Kate is settling down into her new job and interactions with her co-workers. She has to work at figuring out what is going on with her new assignment and who is doing what they should not be doing. I found myself wondering what Kate would get into and then how she would get out of it. It is amazing how she thinks on her feet and gets herself out of certain situations.
I received a copy to listen to the review is mine.

After reading the first book in this series, I was eagerly looking forward to reading the second. I was not disappointed! I read it in one afternoon and enjoyed it all. I loved getting to reconnect with Kate, Patrick and all the other characters. And, though this wasn't an "exciting" case (with guns, bombs and such), it was still very interesting, had it's tense moments and came to a satisfying end.
I hope Sarah Holman writes more stories in this series.

I don't know if I was more used to this reader or if she slowed her reading down just a bit. Either way it was enjoyable to listen to and the voices for each character were well done.

Another Great Story

Any additional comments?

I am really enjoying this series! If there is one thing I love it is stories that feature the FBI (so much that I even wrote one myself!) and Kate's Case files is such a fun and unique take on the FBI. I absolutely love this fabulous (and hilarious!) ensemble cast of characters, I especially get a kick out of Logan and all her fun little quirks! It was neat that the majority of this book took place in and around the Texas State Capitol, the author described the surroundings and atmosphere so well that I felt as though I was really there.
I also loved the suspense in the last few chapters!
The message about honoring God with our choices even when it comes to the seemingly little things, was fabulous, and it was a reminder that greatly touched my heart.
Overall, Kate's Capitol kept me engaged from start to finish, I highly recommend it, and am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I received an audiobook copy of this book from the author, which did not influence my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions are one hundred percent my own.

Patrick and Kate are now an item. Good story to follow the first book. This had a strong theme of following God in even small everyday things, Kate dealing with her past,, and with Patrick new adventure, well written and looking for the new story. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Excellent Narration

I am enjoying listening to the Kate’s Case Files series! Book 2 is a little shorter than book 1, and I listened to the entire book in one evening as I couldn’t make myself turn it off. It’s a well-written, clean mystery, and I’m looking forward to starting book 3 tonight.

Great continuation of the series
