About this listen

Five teenage girls have been murdered. One survived, and only she can reveal the secrets of a disturbing ring of people who kidnap and sell teenage girls on the black market. But those responsible for the crimes will do whatever it takes to maintain her silence.

Susannah Vartanian and Luke Papadopoulos have both sworn to stop the murderers for their own reasons. Susannah suffers from a mysterious past that is connected to the sinister black market. Luke is an investigative agent and a computer expert who refuses to let another child predator get away.

Susannah and Luke are instantly attracted to each other, but their troubled pasts prevent them from immediately acting upon their feelings. The case will lead them to the shady realm of Internet chat rooms, where anyone can mask their identity. As Susannah and Luke draw closer to the criminals, they discover a chain of deception so intricate they don't know who to trust. Susannah and Luke find comfort in one another's arms, but the killers are ruthless and determined, and will take extreme measures to insure their anonymity and keep their business intact.

Critic reviews

"Best-seller Rose concludes her thriller trilogy that began with Scream for Me and Die for Me with a bang....Rose juggles a large cast, a huge body count and a complex plot with terrifying ease. The sweet romance between Luke and Susannah provides welcome relief from the many scenes of brutality." ( Publishers Weekly)

the NARRATOR'S voice....

Tavia Gilbert simply lack the ability to create voices for this many characters. Most sound either out of breath or in pain! Her poor reading detracts dramatically from what could be a decent novel.

poor reader

I PURCHASED THIS BASED ON PREVIOUS REVIEWS. WHEN I BEGAN TO LISTEN TO IT I FELT LIKE I HAD NOT DOWNLOADED THE BEGINING OF THE BOOK. THIS BOOK IS THE 3RD IN A SERIES. TO FULLY UNDERSTAND AND ENJOY THE STORYLINE YOU MUST READ THE 2CD BOOK IN THE SERIES "SCREAM FOR ME". THIS BOOK SHOULD BE TITLED "SCREAM FOR ME THE CONCLUSION". AFTER DOWNLOADING THIS AND FEELING CONFUSED. I WENT BACK AND READ THE DESCRIPTION AND REVIEWS AGAIN. I THEN PURCHASED "SCREAM" AND LISTENED TO IT FIRST, THEN LISTENED TO THIS BOOK. IT MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. I WOULD NOT HAVE UNDERSTOOD "KILL FOR ME" AND WOULD HAVE FELT LIKE THE STORY WAS INCOMPLETE IN THE "SCREAM FOR ME" BOOK IF I HADN'T READ BOTH BOOKS. THEY ARE 2 PARTS OF THE SAME PLOT. THESE 2 BOOKS SHOULD BE READ BACK TO BACK. IF YOU WANT TO GET REALLY INVESTED READ THE 1ST BOOK. THIS WAS A GOOD STORY, A LITTLE TOO VIOLENT AND CONVOLUTED AT TIMES BUT OVERALL WORTH THE 2 CREDITS (BOTH BOOKS), FOR A 30 HOUR THRILLER . I WOULD GIVE IT A 3.75

This was a roller coaster from start to finish. This subseries was EPIC. Karen Rose never disappoints.

Epic!

It was impossible to enjoy this book because of the reader. Her female voices were okay .. but all her males sounded like pre-adolescents .. and everyone whined. The story went a bit long and there was an interminable list of characters and that it was much easy to get confused. Some of the "twists" in the plot were reminiscent of a very inexperienced writer .. or one who doesn't think her readers have ever heard a good book. I don't think this book recommends this author or narrator if you "read" a lot of good books.

whinny reader makes book almost intolerable

This third book is a must if you've read the other two. This book brings the entire story together. The only problem with this series is the narrator's lack of male voice. I think there are few people who could really relate to a high voiced hero.

Good tying-up

The triology was very good but Gilbert does a poor job on the voices. Makes listening very difficult

If you could sum up Kill for Me in three words, what would they be?

Awful, awful narration

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could barely make it through because of the voice of the male lead. Sounded like a whiny old man.

Any additional comments?

This is the first review I've been moved to write. I would have turned the book back in if I wasn't invested through the first two books. I should have paid more attention to other reviews. Argh!

Awful Narration

Way to much going on. Back and forth from the last book Not much romance in this book. Strange.

To much

Relevant issues are the theme du jour in this ongoing saga of the Vartanian's.
How to lure victims via social media. Human trafficking and extortion and bribery. The topic is horrendous but Ms Rose as always gives us the heroes to save the day.
She writes with compassion and her understanding of the topics demonstrates her willingness to delve into this horrific world. This series serves as a warning to always be weary and alert. As a parent I can appreciate the need to stay on top of what our children are doing on the internet.

I did not like Luke's voice I feel the narrator dropped the ball on this character. The rest of the narration was satisfactory.

This is is my 2nd read of all Ms Rose's books.
I highly recommend.
