About this listen

Falcon: Three years ago, I arrived at the scene of an art heist to find Kingston Wilde tied to a radiator, claiming to be an innocent bystander in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was only later I learned he was actually the elusive art thief I’d been tracking for years. And I was the one who’d let him sweet-talk his way out of my grasp. Ever since, I’ve made it my mission to get my hands on him again, and this time I don’t plan on letting go.

Unfortunately, fate has other plans. A priceless artifact has gone missing, and King is the only one who can help recover it. I thought nothing could be worse than being forced to work with the egotistical SOB, but I was wrong. Falling for the charming art thief in the middle of an operation is way, way worse.

King: The key to being a good art thief is knowing when to call it quits. After one too many close calls, I decide it is the right time to head home to Hobie, Texas, intending to hang up my lockpicks for good.

Unfortunately, the FBI has other plans. Agent Dirk Falcon approaches me with an offer I can’t refuse: full immunity for my past crimes in exchange for helping him with one last job.

The catch? The job involves stealing from the very man who taught me everything I know. The same man who double-crossed me years ago. Pulling this off means trusting Falcon and his team, but how do I trust the sexy agent when he’s staked his career on taking me down?

OMG Great Story

I was a little sceptical at first knowing very little about king Wilde but you fall in love with both Derk and King. Michael Dean did an excellent job in his performance.

Heists and romance! Perfection!

I love a good heist book or movie. The fact that this book is a heist trope and one of my favorites of all time makes it absolute perfection for me. I think King and Falcon are really fun characters. I enjoy this book each time I read it or listen to it. This book mostly takes place outside of Texas so there's not as much of King's family in it, but there are enough mentions that you know he's one of the Wildes. I love this entire series and very much recommend it!!!

My favorite in this series!

Great 'cops and robbers' book with a sweet love story. It was fun and exciting, had some mystery and 'bad guys' without getting heavy and dark. Story progressed steadily and always kept my attention. Couldn't stop listening till the very end and left me smiling. I enjoy when the MC has a hidden dark secret but still manages to redeem himself.

A great heist story

I want to start with Michael Pauley’s narration. He always does a great job but in this book he tackled Russian, Hungarian, Irish, and French. And Texan. Always Texan. All that and he gave a solid performance. I have high expectations when I see his name and he never lets me down.

I love Lucy Lennox books and this one was no exception. I haven’t seen many heist movies (although The Italian Job is one of my favorites), so I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. Well, I loved it. You have the career professional hardnosed FBI agent and the thief who have been up against each other for years. They now have to work together and neither trusts the other. What a great set-up with tons of conflict.

Along with the tension are great moments of levity. At one point, King Wilde (the thief) is speaking to one of the members of the team. Ziv says to him, “I swear you could seduce a gravy boat.”

King replied, “Have you ever seen the curves on those things?” I asked seductively. “And they live to serve. They’ll give you what you want. All you have to do is bend them over.”

I laughed. And as with all Lucy books, there is plenty of levity mixed in with the action. Plenty of banner to help develop the characters. By the end of the book, I felt connected to the entire FBI team even as I was rooting for the Wilde man.

Cameos by various Wildes including Doc, Grandpa and King’s sister MJ made the book all the more special. I enjoyed the action and adventure side of the story as well as the mushy lovey bits. In other words, just what I was looking for.

OMG ANOTHER GREAT ONE

Lennox wrote another great one. I will be listening to it again! Pauley....what can I say other than I could listen to any book he narrates and just about fall in love.
The story had everything I love in a book...betrayal, heartache, misunderstandings, love and coming together! I wish I had what the Wildes' have! Love every one of them!

Unique addition to the series

Although the series itself mostly takes place in Texas, most of this story takes place overseas. Art theft, cat burglary, agents, high tech gear, comms, honestly - this book reads almost like a blockbuster movie. With WAY more interesting behind the bedroom door action! A totally unique Wilde. Meet Kingston- the mysterious Wilde middle child, as his secrets come to light. Falcon is the FBI Agent who has been tracking him for years. Great story!

Might be my new favorite

ooooh a bad boy Wilde, like actually bad but not really cause he's so sweet and has a conscious. This was an interesting listen and took me by surprise a little so was not expecting this story and Dean does a great job telling this story. A really great and as always fun listen.
