About this listen

What would you do if you woke up in another world?

That's exactly the problem facing Alex Burke, a recently employed security guard who accidentally finds himself falling through an ancient teleportation gate. When he opens his eyes, he discovers a world of magic, elves, monsters, and demons, not all of which are eager to meet him.

With no idea how to get home, he'll need to adapt, grow, and kill to survive.

But Alex is a stranger in a strange land, which means he's bound to draw interest. Whether that's from his enemies or the many beautiful women he encounters remains to be seen, but he'll need every ounce of wit, strength, and charm to conquer both.

Daniel Pierce ability to craft characters and provide backstories for them that allows listeners to become invested in them was uncanny. He also developed a story that was entertaining and often jocular. This combination kept me amused and intrigued throughout the telling.

This was also my first introduction to Alexander Cendese and to say he comes close to owning the male voice in harem novels would be an understatement. It's obvious that he spent time rehearsing his role and dished out compelling battle sequences followed by humorous banter was simply amazing. In fact, his talent to uniquely mimic all the female character role even going so far as giving them very different dialects accents that it was hard to accept they were from the same performer.

One of the better Harem novels out there

The narrator did awesome job change in its voice stage character was a really good book well-thought-out I would recommend Teenagers but the rather did awesome job

Story is great, but the voice actor can’t do more than one voice for the women of the book….and there are many. I was getting confused with who was actually speaking. I might just get the actual book to read the rest of the titles in this series.

Great storyline

Kind of a hard book to stay focused on, seems all over the place and half the time felt like the narrator had just one volume, YELLING!!! not sure i would continue series even if book 2 was available

tuff read

The start was a little slow but overall the story was good and the sexual scenes were not to much. Overall 7.5/10

MC is a bit of a cad & juvenile smart mouth, in a sexual & slightly irritating way: this is quite a bit of the book & made it a slightly erotic read. MC is new to his power, but OP & this gets BORING: tthere's no REAL tension & he just DESTROYS everything VERY well & fast. All of the above is NOT done in the best way & why it got 3 stars, ON THE PLUS SIDE: has quite a bit of action or magic, is faster paced / simple, but has some mystery. PERFORMANCE: good with different voices & inflections, but I DIDN'T like the attitude he ALMOST always gives off.

Good, BUT

Sorry, it just didn't really do much for me. It definitely wasn't bad,, just nothing really engaging.. it's also annoying how its now common to put a long "preview" of the next book at the end of each book. If I buy an 8 hour book, I don't want a 7 hour book and 45 minutes I'll have to skip ahead on the next book.

Meh

Daniel Pierce is a writing Machine but in King’s Gate he needs to take his time. Stretch it out, focus on character development and not just rush straight from event to event. Great potential but just rushed.

Take your time
