Fun story, narration was painful to listen to

I love Jill Shalvis's books. This was probably my least favorite. It really drags at the beginning. The narration was horrible, very monotone. I honestly stopped the audible version after the second chapter and finished reading it. I will definitely shy away from any book with this narrator.

I liked all three!

The first is my favorite - Deuce and Kendoll but Nicole and Ty are complicated enough to enjoy. My least fave was Connor and Emma bec that was too convenient.

The Reader

Narrator distracted me from every one of these stories: uneven delivery, wrong intonations & disappointing accents.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish

This one is a revisit for me after many years and this time is audio and I LOVED IT even more then time. There are three different books by three of my favorite authors. What more could you want? Highly recommend!

Pick an accent, please.

What disappointed you about Kiss Me, I'm Irish?

The narration was all over the place, and REALLY painful. I even tried to speed up the narration.... it didn't help. After the first book, I was hoping that the second two were narrated by different narrators, I think it tainted my view of the last two books before I even began.

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

Maybe, if they had a different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her various and inconsistent accents really made it difficult to stick with the book and get into the stories. I thought the Northeast and Irish(?) accents were painful in The Sins of His Past, but the Southern accents in Whatever Reilly Wants were horrific. May have been better to have just read the book, instead of listening to them.

What character would you cut from Kiss Me, I'm Irish?

No one character disturbed me, but again I had a hard time getting into the stories. It was the narrator.

Cute but boring

Yada yada blah blah blah. The narrator didn't help the story sparkle much either.

Irish ? Really?

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Terry Donnelly?

I would try another book by these authors ( I do like Jill Shalvis books), but not with this narrator. She has an obvious Australian accent which doesn't fit at all with an Irish bar outside of Boston. Like many books, you can have a great story that would be an excellent read, but with the wrong person reading it, it loses it's appeal.

Would you be willing to try another book from the authors? Why or why not?

I have several books by Jill Shalvis and am very happy with them. I am not familiar with the other authors and might be willing to try them again.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Terry Donnelly?

Therese Plummer or Patricia Daniels. Anyone who can do an Irish accent!

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Again, the stories were good, it's just hard to listen to someone who is completely wrong as narrator.

Any additional comments?

There is a reason to sample a book before you buy it. That is what I should have done since I would not have bought this had I listened to it first.

Let’s put women back 10 centuries

The performance was ok but the accents were horrible! However, I cannot get into a story where a woman plays the victim for getting pregnant but never tells the man. The female character wants me to have sympathy for her! F-NO! Let’s tell our kids that you cannot finish Harvard with a child, seriously we are not in 1920 anymore. Plus, why should anyone feel sorry for the bitch who refused to even tell the man she slept with resulted in a child. Horrible plot!

Worst Narration

Would you try another book from the authors and/or Terry Donnelly?

The narration was so horrible it distracted from the stories. The narrator did not do a good job with the different characters. Her attempt at an Irish accent failed. I have read 2 of the 3 authors previously and loved the books. I would not buy another book with this narrator even if it came from one of my favorite authors.

What was most disappointing about the authors’s story?

The narrator

Would you be willing to try another one of Terry Donnelly’s performances?

No, never

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger that I wasted a credit on it

Narration

What would have made Kiss Me, I'm Irish better?

I couldn't get past the narration on any of the stories.

How could the performance have been better?

Different readers...

Any additional comments?

No other feedback since I couldn't listen to the stories.
