About this listen

When Arborville, New Jersey's snooty theater scene is upstaged by a shocking murder, Pamela Paterson and her Knit and Nibble knitting club must act quickly to stop a killer from making an encore performance....

Knit and Nibble's numbers are growing! In addition to a litter of adorable kittens, the knitting club just welcomed their newest member, Caralee Lorimer, who's learning to knit for her upcoming role in A Tale of Two Cities. According to the amateur actress, the behind-the-scenes drama at the theater is getting downright catty, and Caralee wants a reckoning for Arborville's pretentious suburbanites. Her claws are out, and just like her character in the play, Caralee is ready to name names. But before she can finish her snitchy stitches, Caralee is killed in a suspicious theater accident. Someone thinks they've staged a perfect murder, but Pamela and her Knit and Nibblers are ready to pounce on the real killer...before it's curtains for anyone else!

Mystery and detection was secondary to clothes and food.

Too much about preparing and shopping for food and how coordinated the clothes were. Need more actual detection or mystery. Narrator was fine.

I love the characters in this series.

This book is total escapism. I enjoyed the story, the food and the furkids. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Story is good but Narrator is not

The story is cute and interesting but the narrator is almost painful to listen to after a while. Everything comes across very hesitant along with making the character sound like she's older that she should. Instead of a middle aged mother sending off her child to college she sounds like should would be better to read Miss Marple.

Very Little Mystery in this Cozy Mystery

I struggled to finish this one. It felt as though 90% of the book was clothes, cooking, and eating. She made and ate a peach cobbler for an entire chapter. The next chapter was making and eating BLTs. The next chapter was going to the co-op to buy more food. I have read cookbooks with less recipe details. She also kept bullying her friend into walking everywhere. It was irritating.

I struggled with the narration as well. A character cried for an entire chapter, and the narrator portrayed it. I really didn't care for the snotty sniffles.
