Charlie Stanlon is a serial killer. A ghastly, vicious sociopath who chains women to a table in his basement and tortures them to death. He has no friends. He has no family. He despises his co-workers. His only pleasure in life is to cause pain and terror...

...until the day he finds an adorable Boston terrier and takes it home.

A 30,000-word novella from the Bram Stoker Award-nominated author of Pressure, Dweller, and Wolf Hunt.

Good listen

Cute doggy meets serial killer, it must be love. I enjoyed this book, a different sort of serial killer tale.

Great amusing book!

I exoected more of a thriller but turned out to be a great book a man who has never known love and his dog. Albeit that man was a serial killer. I recommend this book. The narration made this book even better and made the characters come to life.

Great Story

This started creepy but the pup added a different touch.

The characters were well developed and the story flowed nicely.

I received this audio book free for an honest review.

What are you trying to do to me Mr. Jeff Strand?

Water did not leak from eyes, but it threatened to many times. this is one of the few authors that can make me laugh and wanna cry in the same sentence.
I really didn't expect much from this book, but I have a soft spot for the canines. and an even softer spot for the serial killers (apparently)

Very Dark Humor

If you are a fan of dark humor, Jeff Strand is your author. The main character is a very disturbed serial killer whose life is transformed by a cute little dog. Surprisingly, I ended up feeling sorry for him. The narrator was perfect. Give it a listen!

If you like dogs and serial killers then read this book, Blister and Pressure by Strand are good too.

It's about the dog, not the serial killer

JUST BECAUSE YOUR PARANOID DOES NOT MEAN THEY AIN'T OUT TO GET YOU

This is another heart warming story by Strand, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers. Do not be fooled by the first half hour and all the serial killer stuff. People who don't own dogs or love dogs will not get this, but those of us who love dogs, will see ourselves in the way this serial killer deals with his new found best friend. Strand pulled my heart strings in this story, as he did in BLISTER, the story about a woman with a scared face. He had me rolling on the floor with his book WOLF HUNT. I did not like DRACULAS, but I will blame that on the influence of Konrath and Crouch.

I would say, if you don't like dogs, you should get anything else Strand has written, but if you don't like dogs, you and I probably don't agree on much.

great short story

first time I have ever really felt bad for a serial killer and actually wanted the dog to make everything better. for the normal life that Charlie should have had.

A very Strand short! And that's a good thing!

A short and humorous, twisted tale from the master of humorous and twisted. A very Strand short. And that’s a good thing.

Note: I rated this one as a 4.5 Star on GoodReads, but and bumping this one up a wee due to the excellent narration that fit perfectly with the tone of the story.

Ever serial killer got a weakness

The story is shows every monsters weakness humanity has it slowly drives them to death. The difference between the MC's voice and his internal monolog was strange that got on my nerves but what what didn't like was the lack of detail in to how those guys even figured out he killed that girl could have been explained better.
