About this listen

Mary DiNunzio is a trademark Lisa Scottoline heroine - she's strong, she's smart, and she's got plenty of attitude. In recent years, she's become a big-time business-getter at Rosato & Associates, but the last person she expects to walk into her office one morning - in mile-high stilettos - is super sexy Trish Gambone, her high school rival. Back then, while Mary was becoming the straight-A president of the Latin Club and Most Likely to Achieve Sainthood, Trish was the head Mean Girl, who flunked religion and excelled at smoking in the bathroom.

As it turns out, however, Trish's life has taken a horrifying turn. She's terrified of her live-in boyfriend, who's an abusive, gun-toting drug dealer for the South Philly mob. There's only one problem - Mary remembers the guy from high school too. Unbeknownst to Trish, Mary had a major crush on him.

Then Trish vanishes, a dead body turns up in an alley, and Mary is plunged into a nightmare, one that threatens her job, her family, and even her life. She goes on a one-woman crusade to unmask the killer, and on the way, finds new love in a very unexpected place.

But before the novel's shocking surprise ending, Mary is forced to confront some very uncomfortable truths about her own past, and the profound effects of lifelong love - and hate.

Centered on my favorite character Mary DiNunzio

Anytime the story is centered on attorney Mary DiNunzio you’re in for a mix of colorful characters. You are drawn into her extended family and want to pull up a chair at her parent’s house, to eat some of her mother’s noche’ and listen to her father and the three Toney’s rattle on. There is mystery, thrills chills and even laughs in this book and all in all it’s a great ride.

Great narrating, ok story.

I loved it, narrator made "the mean girls"come to life with great personalitys.
At times it felt like i was watching a comic episode of the Sopranos.
Story was ok, narrator saved it.
Cant wait to hear the next book in the series

You gotta love Lisa Scottoline

If you could sum up Lady Killer in three words, what would they be?

Down to Earth and Right on Target

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

How to Convict a member of the Mob without really trying.

Totally engrossing, entertaining, and believable!

Ms. Scottoline’s characters are so believable that you can relate to them immediately. Even if you didn’t grow up in a tight knit community like South Philly, you know people like them. The protagonist, a young female attorney named Mary DeNunzio, may be at the heart of this mystery, but her business associates, her family, her clients, and the neighborhood people play equally big roles and somehow you come to love them all, even with their crazy outbursts and many foibles. Sounds like fun, eh? It really is! A murder does occur, but it is not who you think it will be as the story unfolds. Then there so many possible characters who could be responsible, but you don’t know who to bet on. It’s just a very funny story, yet it has a lot of heart and some wrenching emotional moments, too. One of the most enjoyable books I have listened to in years. Oh, also a big shout out to the narrator, Barbara Rosenblatt, who kept all the characters in different voices, so you always knew who was talking. Her enthusiastic reading breathed life into all the characters so well. A totally entertaining Audible performance!

WONDERFUL MIX

The very believable characters in mysterious reality. Barbara Rosenblat, brings them to life and, from the beginning, away we go. The flow of mystery along with wonderful charactizations made this a great story and a smiling memory.

Excellent Book- Excellent Reader

I have read all of Lisa Scottoline's books, and this is as good or better than any I have enjoyed. The storylines are well matched, the characters are believeable, and Mary becomes very real.
Barbara Rosenblatt is at her best. Having lived in the Philadelphia area and being Italian myself- you can take my word for it- she nailed it. Great jpb, ladies.
