Best Villian in a Romance Series

This is the first of a "quartet" then a fifth book is added that doesn't quite fit. But the first four books begining with Lady of Fire, then Fire and Steel, Hearts or Fire, then The Fire and the Fury are outstanding. The characters have great depth of character, and you grow to love them and there children. There is Roger FitzGilbert, born a bastard and the beautiful Eleanor of Nantes and the best villian ever in a romance book is the evil Robert of Belesme and then of cource the charming Prince Henry, son of William the Conqueror all add a richness to everything you are reading. Roger ends up being the ideal of every man that men wish to emulate and with whom women wish to fall in love. Each book gets better and better until you feel you know these people. (Spoiler Alert!!) Prince Henry is smitten with Eleanor. She is kidnapped by Belesme, & others, and finally taken to England by Roger. Beware, Belesme never gives up.

Deserves more than five stars 🌟

The best medieval romance by far and I have read many... The story has substance, rich historical settings, complex characters and plot that is original and filled with action and romance.
Beautifully written story, couldn’t stop listening, highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Worst narrator ever!

I read the book and it was a pretty good book but the Audible version...not so much. The narrator is just terrible. Flat and boring could not even make it past the first few chapters. Makes me wonder if anyone listens to these before putting them for sale. I will never purchase another book narrated by Sandra Caldwell, she really was just atrocious.

I COULDN'T EVEN FINISH THIS ONE...

I don't really know if this book was well written or not...the narrator was so bad...she sounded like she was reading a shopping list. No accents...no change of voices for different characters...I can't believe I wasted a credit on this book. WHY DOESN'T AN AUTHOR OF A BOOK LISTEN TO THE NARRATOR FIRST!!! I know if I spent weeks...months...whatever on writing a book, I would want to hear the finished product and approve or disapprove!! Just a shame!
