About this listen

With grit, relentless action, and twists you'll never see coming, Laws of Annihilation is the third installment in the highly acclaimed Martyr Maker crime fiction series from actor, director, producer, and award-winning author Eriq La Salle.

A war is brewing in New York City, and nobody can stop it.

It's summer in New York City, and a sweltering heat wave stifles the area. The entire city is on edge.

Tensions between the Hasidic and Black communities of New York have been steadily escalating since a tragic incident a few weeks ago left a Black teenager dead. Then, two rabbis are killed in a gruesome attack at their synagogue.

Meanwhile, FBI agent Janet Maclin has dreams of finally being appointed the FBI's first female director, when she is diagnosed with stage IV cancer and given four months to live. While keeping her illness a secret, she is assigned to help NYPD detectives Quincy Cavanaugh and Phee Freeman solve the case of the murdered rabbis as more hate crimes threaten a city on the brink. As the body count mounts, time is running out for Maclin in more ways than one.

Great Series

I have read/listened to all the books in the series. Never disappointed. The flow of the story from book to book is consistent. Each book has a different crime so it feels like a different story but I appreciate how the ending of each story ties back to the previous book. Can’t wait for the next one. I hope there’s a fourth one coming.

Fantastic Thriller!

This book would be fantastic as a standalone thriller, but it's even better as the third novel in this series by La Salle as it digs into the life of one of the three main characters in a beautifully intimate way.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series. La Salle is now on my "buy on sight" list along with Michael Connelly, Linwood Barclay, and Samantha M. Bailey!

Great

Great book with an amazing read by both.
I hope he continues the series.
There are parts that are difficult to hear I hope others listen with an open mind and immerse themselves into a different view point. Just because some opinions are how it’s always been doesn’t mean we can’t learn and grow and change.

Should I say cliffhanger?

As Eriq La Salle, the author invites, an addition to the narration Leslie Cohen, it took a bit of getting used to😁 Both narrators were able to bring the story together, and keep the flow. No matter how gruesome, are horrifying some of the scenes were, Eriq La Salle the author, and narrator’s smooth and soothing voice, would soften the blow. As soon as I thought I knew what was happening next, there was always twists and turns to the very end. Kudos to you, Eriq La Salle author and narrator in your brilliant novel execution; you do know how to keep us coming back for more? “Next page please”!
