About this listen

Repairman Jack isn’t your average appliance repairman - he fixes situations for people, often risking his own life. Jack has no last name, no social security number, works only for cash, and has no qualms when it comes to seeing that the job gets done.

Dr. Alicia Clayton, a pediatrician who treats children with AIDS, is full of secrets, and she has just inherited a house that holds another. Haunted by painful memories, Alicia wants the house destroyed - but somehow everyone she enlists to help ends up violently killed. The house holds a powerful secret, and Alicia’s charmless brother Thomas seems willing to do anything to get his hands on that secret himself.

But not if Repairman Jack can find it first!

Critic reviews

“Jack is righteous!” Andrew Vachss“The Tomb is one of the best all-out adventure stories I’ve read in years.” (Stephen King)
“Repairman Jack [is] a Byronic hero fans have begged to see again for more than a decade. Legacies is a righteous follow-up....The book is a lot of fun, and Wilson has promised that Jack will be back soon.” ( Rocky Mountain News)
“F. Paul Wilson is a hot writer, and his hottest, and my favorite creation, is Repairman Jack. No one does this kind of weird meets crime better than Wilson. Gripping, fascinating, one of a kind. That’s F. Paul Wilson and Repairman Jack.” (Joe R. Lansdale)

The narrator was good, the story felt dragged out. To quote Money Python, " GET ON WITH IT!"

Well read, entertaining, and a touch of humor. I want to read more of repairman jack. Just inventive enough to keep you guessing.

I enjoyed the plot, it keeps you in the dark about the main motives of the characters. Good read!

Interesting plot

Unlike the other Repairman Jack novels, this one isn't steeped in the supernatural. Instead, Jack explores the history and legend of Tesla and his ideas. As a Tesla fan, I enjoyed this.
The narrator does a great job with Jack, and a decent job with the other characters. His female voices could use some more variation though.

If you ever want a snippet to show a new person who jack is, the Santa scene is a perfect encapsulation of his character.

An interesting digression for Jack

The story was decent but it was hard to get through with the narration being robotic and monotone.

I should get a gold start for finishing this book!! I love the repairman Jack character and storyline, however I just do not like the narration. he uses the same cadence for every character and draws out the last word in every sentence. I will pass on the next few and try the Dick Hill narrated books.

Good story, Bad narration

Love Jack and the overall storyline which is fun and original. The one complaint I have is the female characters, they are weak and mostly idiotic. Not realistic or have any depth as people in any way which is disappointing.
