About this listen

The adventures continue for Laura Ingalls and her family as they leave their little house in the Big Woods of Wisconsin and set out for Kansas. They travel for many days in their covered wagon until they find the best spot to build their little house on the prairie. Soon they are planting and plowing, hunting wild ducks and turkeys, and gathering grass for their cows. Sometimes pioneer life is hard, but Laura and her folks are always busy and happy in their new little house.

Loved the book but the singing was painful. She tried though! Yeowch!! Still worth the listen.

Great story could have done without singing

While some of the decisions that Pa makes are questionable at best lol, His quick thinking And logical decisions save the lives of his wife and daughter's many times. This book is a true account of the lives of pioneers and native Americans when the white people 1st started moving into Indian territory. I appreciate that these books are very detailed and tell about everyday things as well as Detailed descriptions of how things were done. It is a historical document and an important 1st hand accountOf a now ancient way of life. There are many things that these people did not know about And that would be considered very scary even now.I admire their bravery and their ingenuity.. I enjoy the narrator and keep in mind that this story is told from the perspective of a little girl.I find all of the characters are told very well in that perspective. I look forward to reading the rest of the books.

I first read this series of books when I was around 9 or 10 years old. This was a good listen. It's too bad that the illustrations from the book could not be included. They were wonderful glimpses into a fargone world.

Classic Tale performed well

Having visited all but 1 of the Laura Ingalls Wilder museums I can see where this happened. I feel the pain they must have felt leaving what they worked so hard for.

Love the series

So much fun reliving these stories. I read these to all my girls when they were little, and I’m loving having a narrator read it to me now. Still as much fun as it was 25 years ago when I read it to my children. I feel Cherry Jones does a great job narrating.

❤️❤️❤️

I see a lot of reviews calling the narrator terrible which almost scared me away from purchasing but I’m on book 4 now and she honestly isn’t that bad. Could she have been “more in character”? I’m sure she could but it is definitely not terrible. I’ve listened to book 1 three times so far.

Great story

Wonderfully performed. The only thing that could make it better would be to have a male sing the songs. Just didn’t sound right with a female voice.
