About this listen

The Dragonlance Warriors series continues with the tale of Soth, once a mighty warrior, whose jealous passions and neglect of duty has caused him to lose all that is dear to him - his love, his life and his very spirit. His is the tale of a descent into evil and darkness.

Love the tale of Lord Soth and his long path to becoming the Death Knight.

Preparing to run the Shadow if the Dragon Queen l. I'm a Chroncles reader from the 90s and this is the first of a few attempt where I was pulled back into Krynn.

Great Narrator and Pacing

Originally got this to have the backstory so I can listen to the Ravenloft novels, but it’s so good I want to listen to all of the Dragonlance books now.

Fantastic and makes me want to dig deeper

Of the 3 Lord Soth books on here, this is by far the best. Knight of the Black Rose is close in story.

Best narration, best Soth story.

Loved the slightly peaceful beginnings of this proud warrior, only to have it all stripped away from his own inactions. Great story, and voice-acted well. 👍👍

Was just what I needed!

Very good. I have been familiar with Lord Soth from so many other of the Dragonlance saga and am satisfied with this origin story.

I always wanted to know this story.

I enjoyed it. It's a good haunting tale. Soth is one of the more interesting characters of Dragonlance. He's very multi faceted and that's what draws you in.

It's quite good.

Book is only worth reading if you’re willing to step back from years of social efforts to untangle some goofy racism, and REALLY want to know more about Soth and the Cataclysm.

Additionally, the performer does a very good job with what he’s given, it’s just that there are some character voice inconsistencies that made some parts a little confusing, at least briefly.

The writing itself is pretty bog-standard, with some laughably bad racism thrown in at points.

Classic but gauche

The reader was very good. Nice inflection and used different voices for characters. thoroughly enjoyed this.

Great to learn the history of how Soth came to be!

Due to the upcoming Dragonlance book for the 5th edition of Dungeons and Dragons I wanted to explore the beginnings of Lord Soth's story. Soth has quite the similarities with Darth Vader to which I can infer inspired the character of Lord Soth when the book was first released.

Loved It
