Publisher's summary

The army of the dead has begun to rally from their recent defeat, slaughtering the nomads of the out-regions.

Reza, the saren knight responsible for the arisen lord’s recent defeat, struggles with Nomad, her cursed companion, drawing her and her friends thin and to their wits end in helping him to resist the call of darkness welling up deep within him.

Met with indolence from the region’s leaders, they are left to make strange connections and allies to help in defending their home state from impending doom. The dead are within the Southern Sands borders, and few have prepared for the imminent tides of war.

Lords of the Sands is the second book in a high-fantasy trilogy that has deep roots in dark magic, Lovecraftian horror, and the occult. It’s an epic-fantasy fiction novel that will leave you wanting more from the vibrant cast of characters you’ll grow to love.

I LOVE this book, but WHY?!

I really loved the first book and its narrator, and I really love this book too, but WHY change the narrator?

The journey to save a comrade's life and soul

Received as an audio review copy from Story Origin, this is an honest review. The gorgeous and dark sequel to Shadow of the Arisen, Lords of the Sands brilliantly expands this immersive series into an even more precarious adventure as Nomad's warrior comrades fight to find hope to cast out the demonic curse that's slowly consuming Nomad's life and soul as it makes his presence dangerous when he dominated by the darkness. Despite Reza being constantly warned that Nomad's fate is already sealed, Reza and the others sacrifice all they have to journey to the darkest of the Arisen to save a friend. While I did miss Nathaniel Priestley's wondrous performance style, Jak McDonough that narrates this book brings a superb and passionate take upon established characters and the new ones brought to life within the book. Smart, intense battles and poignant bonds of friendship make this series unforgettable... whether you read or listen. Highly recommended.

Immersive world!

Book two in this series is another deep, immersive dark fantasy adventure. Reza and Arie take us on this quest to help cure their friend Nomad from a “demonic condition”, where the first book left off. The action is nonstop in this book and you won’t be bored at all. The author does an amazing job at describing the world around the characters; you feel like you can see everything going on.

Book 2 in an epic high fantasy series!

You know what's better than book 1 in this epic high fantasy series? Book 2! Paul Yoder continues to develop our cast of characters, the story continues to engage and grow the depth of the world we find ourselves in, and the plot moves at a good pace for an epic fantasy novel. I absolutely cannot wait for book 3! Audio Version: Jak McDonough joins the series replacing the previous narrator. It took a minute to get used to his narration but overall, he did a great job stepping in with the characters and narration.

Exceptional Dark Fantasy

I enjoyed book 2 as much as book 1. Once the audiobook started, I had to listen until the end as the story was so captivating. The story had all that was needed to create a great fantasy story. The characters were memorable. The action was pretty much non-stop. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Jak McDonough's narration was fine and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great story, a continuation of the first in this epic fantasy.

The story was great however, the voice actor who was teaching has WAY too much bass in his voice. I had to lower the bass to zero and turn up the treble on my car audio system to hear the book correctly. Maybe it was the studio equipment they used? The next book is the same way. Book 1 was flawless
