About this listen
"Nothing short of transcendent."—New York Times
AN INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER!
Love comes home for the challah-days in this sparkling romance.
Snow is falling, holiday lights are twinkling, and Abby Cohen is pissed. For one thing, her most annoying customer, Seth, has been coming into her café every morning with his sunshiny attitude, determined to break down her carefully constructed emotional walls. And, as the only Jew on the tourism board of her Vermont town, Abby's been charged with planning their fledgling Hanukkah festival. Unfortunately, the local vendors don’t understand that the story of Hanukkah cannot be told with light-up plastic figures from the Nativity scene, even if the Three Wise Men wear yarmulkes.
Desperate for support, Abby puts out a call for help online and discovers she was wrong about being the only Jew within a hundred miles. There's one other: Seth.
As it turns out, Seth’s parents have been badgering him to bring a Nice Jewish Girlfriend home to New York City for Hanukkah, and if Abby can survive his incessant, irritatingly handsome smiles, he’ll introduce her to all the vendors she needs to make the festival a success. But over latkes, doughnuts, and winter adventures in Manhattan, Abby begins to realize that her fake boyfriend and his family might just be igniting a flame in her own guarded heart.

By day, Julie Zimmerman works as an executive assistant. After hours, she’s @JulieZeeEatsNYC, a social media restaurant reviewer with over fifty thousand followers. As much as she loves her self-employed side gig, what Julie really wants is to be a critic at a major newspaper, like the New York Scroll. Nothing’s going well for Eve: she’s single, turning forty, stressed at work and anxious about a recent series of increasingly creepy incidents. Most devastatingly, her beloved father died last year, and her family still won’t acknowledge their sorrow. With her younger sister’s wedding rapidly approaching, Eve is on the verge of panic. Sawyer Greene knows romance. She’s a bestselling author of the genre—or she was, until her ex left her with nothing but writer’s block and a broken heart. But when she gets stuck in the elevator with a handsome stranger, she sees their meet cute for what it is: just a one-night stand. It might have worked, too, if they could stop running into each other. Actor Mason West sees Sawyer’s reappearance in his life as a sign. Obviously, they’re meant to cure each other. Him of the hopeless romanticism that only ends in heartbreak—and tabloid trainwrecks—and Sawyer of her writer’s block.

Critic reviews
"Love You a Latke is the Hallmark Hanukkah movie I've been waiting for all my life. Seth's and Abby's lovely story of fake dating and meddling parents, small town Hanukkah festivals and finding friendship in unexpected places, is a cozy delight, and as sweet and inviting as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night. I loved every word!"—Jenna Levine, USA Today bestselling author of My Roommate Is a Vampire
“One of my favorite reads of 2024, Love You A Latke by Amanda Elliot is Hanukkah romance at its very best.”—Jean Meltzer, international bestselling author of The Matzah Ball
"Love You a Latke is a beautiful story with an unexpected slow burn romance and amazing supporting characters. But it's also a story about community—the community you're embraced by, the community you make and the magical miracle of Hanukkah."—Stacey Agdern, award-winning author of The B'Nai Mitzvah Mistake

Starr Media Second-Assistant Survival Guide: 1. Don't call your hot boss the Antichrist to his face. 2. Don't stare at hot boss', um, package or his full sleeve of tattoos. (No. Really. Stop!) 3. Don't get on the malicious first assistant's bad side. 4. Don't forget to memorize the 300-page employee manual. 5. If you value your cashmere, steer clear of boss' dog. 6. Boss' dimples are lust-inducing. Do. Not. Give. In. 7. "The elevator ate your clothes" is not a valid excuse for showing up to important meetings half dressed.

Story
If the Upper East Side had an evil twin, it would be Tickled Pink, Wisconsin. This run-down, backwoods town isn’t worthy of the footprint of my Louboutins, never mind all of me. But when my grandmother has a near-death experience and realizes we Lightlys can’t buy our way into heaven, she relocates the family to Tickled Pink to work on improving our souls. And that’s how I trade my heiress existence for gigantic bugs, dishwater coffee, and a cranky single dad named Teague Miller.

OMG This was Uber cute!
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
This was so well written. The characters were realistically written and made me long for New York.
Kelli Tager also did an amazing job embodying the characters. I cried a few times as I listened, being able to relate to both the words and emotions of feeling left out of family things and then finding her own family.
The romance is very sweet and slow simmer, but well worth the journey to get there!
I would totally go to a Hanukkah Festival!

Surprisingly very good
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Kelli Tager enlivens the story with just the right amount of snark from the female lead and the perfect amount of sweetness for the boyfriend, Seth. The character voices are clear and fun.
I finished the book wanting more from the author and this narrator.
Hits all the right romance buttons!
