Weremole Kira Kolanowski has spent 29ish years of her life half blind and occasionally half dead. (Her family isn't exactly loving.) In an effort to remain fully alive, she moves to Grayslake, Georgia, with her poor excuse for a guide dog - a guide dog who decides to lift his leg and relieve himself on sexy-smelling werebear Isaac Abrams' belongings. And when he roars...well, it makes her heart go pitter-patter and other parts go "ooh baby, ooh baby". Just when she thinks she might have found happiness, a raving she-b*tch werebear chick tries to kill her with the same poison that scarred Isaac to hell and back. The poison that Kira's family happens to manufacture....
Isaac Abrams is leaving Grayslake. He's tried - Lord, how he's tried - to settle into life in Grayslake after the birth of his niece, but it's not happening. He's been home for a year, and it's been 365-plus days of women looking past him and flat-out pretending he doesn't exist. The battle with the hyenas didn't just ruin his face; it ruined his chances at finding a mate in his hometown. So, he's leaving. Or, he was leaving, until one day a lush, curvaceous weremole wanders into his half-packed house....

but she wouldn’t mind spending some time with him.”
After stories featuring MMCs with grudges against humans, hyenas, and anyone remotely connected with a villain, Isaac and Kira’s story was a welcome change. Even though Isaac was scarred by the bad guys in book 1, he never blamed the innocent civilians like Kira.
“Stupid, sex starved, worm eating mole!”
Likewise, even though Kira has the formula backstory (of being victimized and bullied), she never lost her sunny attitude. Her inner monologue was hilarious and I loved the way she got under Isaac’s skin.
“Ebeneezer snoffle blossom”
Of course, Labrador Ebbie stole the show, along with any scene with Isaac’s parents. This one was light on the naughty parts ( or as Kira says, the “nom nom” bits), but so much better with the comedy,
making it my favorite of the series.
Finally, a totes adorable romance

Excellent!

The scarred bear healer and the mostly blind weremole find that Daddy Bear is the best ally anyone could hope for, and that the past of other kinds of shifters is not at all an open book. The usual fine storytelling, fascinating characters, and vivid imagery make this a great read!
Kendall Taylor really adds to the book with her narration.
Worth the money!
