About this listen

'Love in the Scottish Highlands' comprises all three volumes of the enchanting 'Bright Young Things' trilogy:
'Highland Pursuits', 'Highland Christmas' and 'Highland Wedding'

Lady Ophelia's life is all mapped out: marriage to a cod-faced aristocrat and a life of dull respectability.

Refusing to play along, she's banished to her ancestral home in the Highlands of Scotland.
There, she'll be so bored, she'll come to her senses... won't she?
Meeting her eccentric relatives (not to mention ruggedly handsome estate manager Hamish) Ophelia isn't so sure.
Let the mayhem begin!

Prepare for romance, mischief and hilarity.
Heat level : rather saucy and lots of fun (performed brilliantly by British actor Gareth J Davies)

Such Wonderful Entertainment!

I have enjoyed this Trilogy of Scottish stories so very much!
What exactly is it with a Scottish story that grabs me? I think it is the absolute hunks who are the heroes. They all seem to be brooding, loving and compasionate, devilishly handsome and well built So, who wouldn't love to have a guy like that in their life! (Even if its only in a fictional story – Lol!)
This bundle has the hero and heroine having to solve some very troubling mysteries while they find their happy ever after.
There are family members, friends and some strange but cleverly elusive characters whose intentions are to do harm. They all play their parts wonderfully to help to make this not only an interesting read, but also one which entertained me and kept me turning pages to the very end.
I loved the narration by Gareth J Davies and especially how he changes from one character to the next, seamlessly and with the perfect voice to match each character. Impressive!
I have listened to a complimentary copy of the Audible version and my voluntary review is above.

Refreshingly enjoyable

This group of stories was so very enjoyable. The story lines well thought out, with just enough drama, fun and spice that I found myself not wanting them to be over. The narration was wonderfully done and I really enjoyed the added sound effects. It reads to the story without making it too cheesy. You will enjoy this set for sure!!

Delightful Highlands romp full of romance!

What a fun and loving romp in a Highlands castle! Readers get a treat with all three of the Scottish Highland romances bundled in one book. Now you can get the complete story of Ophelia and Hamish's rocky road to love and marriage in one volume. The 1920s is a great time to write about young women who for the first time can assert their independence, sexual freedom and career opportunities. Ophelia rejects her snooty mother's plans to marry her to some stuffy old aristocrat and instead sets her sights on the strapping and masculine Highland estate manager Hamish. I love the setting in a Scottish castle and the descriptions of the area are a real bonus. No Highland castle would be complete without potential ghosts, myths and unexplained events, which adds to the suspense and intrigue. And there are plenty of great animal heros, including dogs, horses and a surprising character in the third book who plays a key role. The characters who populate the castle, upstairs and downstairs, and the cast of guest who tramp through are fun, quirky and loveable. I especially enjoyed learning about the servants and estate staff. The second book includes many lively Christmas tradition. It is great that the epilogue updates you on the fate of the various characters that you grow to love.Gareth is a great narrator and the special effects sounds are fun too. And who better to write about the castle than Emmanuelle who now lives in a castle tower in the Highlands herself!

could not finish, so reckless for women

So boring, not at all respectful for women, and just boring in general...the narrator was an odd choice.
