About this listen

The reigning queens of Regency romance return with another delightful Christmas collection of three sparkling holiday romances, as stranded travelers find merriment, mistletoe, and holiday romance awaiting at a quaint country inn....

An Unexpected Christmas Gift by Madeline Hunter

Jenna Waverly has closed her inn, anticipating a blissfully quiet Christmas, until a snowstorm brings the first of several strangers to her property. Lucas Avonwood, as charming as he is secretive, is on a mission to track down a scoundrel, but the inn’s lovely owner is giving him a more compelling reason to stay....

When We Finally Kiss Good-Night by Sabrina Jeffries

When Flora Younger first met Konrad Juncker, she thought she’d found her match, only to have her hopes dashed. Konrad is now a famous playwright whose plays Flora has secretly panned in reviews. But a chance meeting in a secluded inn may help them rewrite this star-crossed romance....

When Strangers Meet by Mary Jo Putney

Kate McLeod is shocked to find that her fellow guest in the snowbound inn is the dashing soldier who may or may not be her husband. Daniel Faringdon barely remembers that long-ago night when he rescued her from disaster, but the desire they discover now will be impossible to forget, or to ignore....

ENJOYED SERIES OF STORIES

A wonderful way to present three different stories. Narrative was excellent. Highly recommend this read or listen. A little too much cat in last story, only complaint, and I love cats.

Very nice

A very nice story of a group stranded at an inn, and they break the story down into individual stories, and I enjoy historical fiction romance. Christmas stories all happy endings, and a nice tasty treat of a read.

Pleasant surprise!!!

Every story was engaging. I loved that they all took place at the same Inn. I cannot say one was better than the other. They were all very good with the perfect narrator.

Wonderful Christmas read!

so fun to read about a regency snow storm during a modern snowstorm. very festive and put me right in the Christmas mood. the stories tied together perfectly and had strong characters. I loved them all, and will be seeking more books from these authors.

Book 1= 3 stars, Book 2= 4 stars, Book 3= 5 stars!

This was a special and unique way of telling a heartfelt Christmas story. The book was told as 3 separate but overlapping love stories of the same event.

In order of enjoyment.
Book 3 When Strangers Meet was my absolute favorite. It is a second chance love and an unexpected plot. The romance value is high & the only one that is completely chaste. The FMC is totally her own person, strong. intelligent but kind. The MMC is sophisticated but vulnerable and 100% a gentleman. It is obvious he truly loves his gal, but there are obstacles to overcome.

Book 2 is about valuing a person's character and allowing love to take root in the most unusual circumstances. The love story between these two is quite straightforward but lovely. The scenes are sexy but told with couth & restraint. The ending is a real HEA fairytale.l as the MMC transforms into a white knight slaying his damsels monsters without worrying her pretty little head (I appreciated & resented that part 😉)

Finally, my least favorite was 1st book, When we finally say goodnight = 3 stars. The reason for their separation and his 8 year hiatus didn't correlate with the ardent profession of love in the end. For me, the FMC was too desperate and anxious to forgive anything just to marry. The MMC was too wrapped up in his own sorrow to truly respect his partner. Even though he learns of the damage he caused, he was still too pesimistic, selfish, and cavalier about her circumstances & pain. In the end he didn't deserve her.

Book three was a true romance!

Book three was well thought out and a true romance story. The characters actually acted like they were mature thinking adults who had a care for each others future. My star rating would have been higher if I were only rating book three. Books one and two were lust-mances. They made me wonder how in a day and age when there was no reliable form of birth control, two intelligent women would totally disregard the risk of pregnancy. Especially when their options were a possibility of marriage (all be it small) or living in squalor while making a living on their back! Really!! Authors please, stop pretending like sexual freedom means independence!!

Interesting way to tell a story

This was indeed three books but it was actually three parts of the same story. It came as a surprise to me so I thought I’d share. Each story follows one individual couple that are all at the same inn at the same time so if the first story seems incomplete, go on to the next one .. and so on. It was an interesting way to tell the entire story

Three for the Best

The continuing story told from three different views. Each author uses the story of the first to write another part of the story.

Christmas Kisses

This book has three separate but connected stories within, each written by one of the three authors. I have always enjoyed writings from each of these authors and was fascinated by the way the stories were each written from a different persons perspective, yet they are occurs during the same time period. Very enjoyable stories, all narrated by the gifted Beverly A. Crick for audiobook format! Easy to recommend for those who love sweet romance stories each with differentiated plots. 😍
