About this listen

Archaeologist Berit Katsaros travels the world in search of treasures from ancient times. A serious injury forces her to take a break from fieldwork and accept an interim teaching job at Whitman College. She finds nothing redeeming in her frustrating sabbatical, except her sexy landlord, Tace.

When Stacy "Tace" Lomond takes charge of her brother's failing microbrewery, she discovers a passion and talent she never realized she possessed. After years of putting herself last and supporting others' dreams, she's ready to make a name for her artisanal beer among the academics and sophisticated wineries in Walla Walla, Washington. Berit might be a tempting distraction, but she's only a temporary fixture in town and in Tace's life.

Slow-crafted beer and time-worn artifacts: both women recognize what's important in their careers, but can they learn to appreciate the value of love?

Story about finding love by first finding yourself

I felt the story and characters had tremendous depth. The imagery of the surroundings is beautiful and artfully woven into the essence of Stace’s character.

Best of Karis Walsh

I had already read this book and loved it. The story is great. The characters of Berit and Tace are great. The narration is a little rough, but does not detract from the quality of the writing.

I loved this book.

I had a big struggle with the reader. we are spoiled now because readers are actors and at least try to read in different voices. NOT in this book....everybody sounds the same...bland and matter of fact. Minimal tone changes when characters are happy, angry etc. Romantic/sexy scenes are spoiled by this reader. I bought this book because I loved Seaglass Inn. now I wish I had just read it on Kindle.

hard to listen to

The story is good enough. The characters and setting were done pretty well. As a beer lover I enjoyed the descriptions of the beer elements and such. The audio editing could have been better however. The chapters just ran together with no dramatic breaks. My biggest disappointment, sorry to say, was the narration. The two main characters sounded the same, all of them really. It was hard to follow who was saying what at times because there was no vocal change between characters. There could have also been a little more emotion in the read as well. It was a bit monotoned and therefore bland.

Good story, narration.....
