About this listen

Book two in the Falling for Mr. Statham Series

Claire Gracen finally has the life she's always wanted: a career she loves, a man who's willing to do any and everything for her, and friends that show her the true meaning of the word friendship.

As she and Jonathan prepare to make the ultimate commitment to one another and plan the wedding of her dreams, she quickly realizes that the hurtful past she left behind in Pittsburgh is a lot closer than she thought.

I can not stand Claire she ruined it for me. I only finished both books because I wanted to see how everything played out but she annoyed me the whole way, and I feel like this story was too long, maybe because Claire irritated me so much .

Claire is annoying and killed the book for me

Both books in the series were well written overall. The over all story arc and development of scenes and settings were well done. Most of the characters, excepting the most peripheral characters, were well rounded. But the heroine’s lack of maturity and tendency towards game playing was irritating and sometimes absolutely *itchy.

Well Written But Witchy Heroine

I liked this series. It's plausible how our heroine might resist a younger man after a hellatious divorce. And, how he might be completely enthralled with her, never mind the chase she leads him on, yet I will say there were a few parts that might irk you, as they did me. The car thing with the switching her car out after the accident, down to changing the leather.., and in 1 day? Changing her VIN#? That got my eyes rolling. And, for a savvy, smart woman - how do you excuse your daughters' stupidity. 16 or not, you sit them down and educate their asses, not give up and say oh well, they are just this way. That would have sure made for her being a stronger role model, and stronger person! I liked it, but a better editor would have pulled it together far better. And, closing off the Golden Gate Bridge for hours for dinner? That would have put that guy in the total self absorbed schmuck and asshole club for SO MANY commuters trying to get home. If I were her, I'd have said so! That said, it was good to see them get together, but Whitney G has done better in other books. It's a good story, but needed some attention to clean up the "do I like these people?" aspect of it.

I felt that the last novel wrapped everything up so there was no need for another novel.

I really do like Claire as a character. She’s grown so much but is still so mature. I’m happy she wasn’t out here preaching forgiveness.

Definitely the source of conflict was very frustrating. I don’t think this book was necessary. The gall of the people in Claire’s past it’s just insane.

Pretty Good Follow Up

This is a great continuation of Claire and Jonathan's journey to self-discovery. It's delightfully full of angst, passion and a second chance at romance. As the plot thickens, heart-breaking issues come to the surface for both characters. I truly loved this story. Whitney G's writing is superb. Narrators Bloom and James put a lot of heart and steamy sexiness into their performance.

Much as I like this book, Claire, the female lead is INCREDIBLY annoying and anyone without patience might frustratingly end listening to the book just because of her.

Though 12 years older than her fiance, Claire seems to be a pushover, at times, and lacks the conviction and poise of a strong independent woman. However, she seems to be ignorantly godmatic and stuck up on the wrong things and for the wrong reasons. Arrghhhh!

A Tad Repulsive Heroin

I have never been more angry over a fictional ex husband in my whole life!! Job well done! Despite the ex husband drama this was a wonderful follow up to a loving series. Loved the love the 2 main characters shared. Not your typical love romance were the heroine was a gullible pushover. Loved it!

Job well done, well worth the read!
