A new city, a new start, and the same old dance. After swearing an oath to Mezolak to save Ryoko’s life, Jack is left in service to the ancient, evil demon that’s taken possession of his father’s body. Surprisingly, it isn’t so bad.
His new benefactor doesn’t ask much of him, even providing lodgings in the form of a swanky penthouse in the middle of Arc City. Left to his own devices, Jack is faced with a familiar and now unavoidable question. Who should he feed on next?

I truly hope that the author learns to not create characters in his direct image and instead think of creating a character who can get shit done like a man is supposed to instead of someone who is constantly pitying themselves with their boohoo me inner monologue for 30-40% of the book.
The author has done such a great job in his world building and the overall story plot is good. It's just the MC man. He's such a whiny little b****. He screams NO all the time like a child throwing a temper tantrum! ARGH! Fingers crossed that his next series has a decent MC or I wont be able to get past the first book. Only managed to finish this series because of my OCD.
Despite everything there, I actually enjoy the author's world building skill and the overall plot.
Gave up on the MC

I did not enjoy Water Nymph. Mostly due to dumb character decisions, repetitive excuses ("I have to do this"), and about two plot threads too many.
But this one was good. A solid compact story of rectifying mistakes. Let at a nice point which can be built up more on, or left to end. Whichever choice the author makes, I'm happy with
Much better then the last
