Publisher's summary

A secret society of mages and shape-shifters is at war with blood-magic-wielding bad guys. It would be super cool if the world weren't, you know, in danger of being overrun by evil buttheads.

When the Paragon Society needs a situation contained, they call in their top battle mage, Lucy, a dual-blade-wielding, fireball-throwing kicker of butts.

But a traumatic injury has fractured Lucy's psyche, leaving her trapped deep inside her subconscious. The Society and her friends are desperate to save her and are willing to try anything. The devised plan seems simple enough; Orson and the gang will get magicked into Lucy's mind, locate her, and bring her out.

Yeah, right.

Lucy's mind has gone into protection mode, perceiving any rescue attempt as a threat, and the last place anyone wants to be is on the wrong side of a pissed-off battle mage.

Always a surprise

I really have to give this author credit. I never know how this series is going to develop narratively. Keeps me on my toes and I love it. Kudos!

This Was Soooo Good!!

David Delaney continues to raise the bar!! I really enjoyed the first book in this series. Although it incorporated elements that we are familiar with, it did it in a unique and refreshing way. This continued into the second book and leveled up in the third. I love the curve balls Delaney continually throws. There are enough unexpected turns and cliffhangers to rival a prime time soap opera (but without the cheesiness). I'm buying thr fourth book right now and am hoping against hope that a fifth one materializes before I'm finished.

Creatures, travels thru a dream, & spells!

Lucy by David Delaney and narrated by Matt Godfrey is book three in the series! In this one we are in Lucy's dream, literally! Orson and others are sent back into her dreams while she is in a coma and arrive in the 1980s. What happens then is so unpredictable, scary, and sad. But the overall book is exciting with scattered humor, it's witty, fast paced, great world building, and awesome characters! I can't wait for the next book!
The narrator is excellent in performing all the various voices and creating the right atmosphere!

to be honest not a good book in the series

its not very well thought out and has obvious conclusions and annoying plot flow ... its like a dumb teen movie with out the main character from the first two books

Hard to read

I love this series but this one was difficult to get through. It is worth it in the end and furthers the story so I recommend reading it.

But…

Spoiler…

Let’s face it, young Lucy was a truly awful human being. There was not one redeeming quality in her personality. That she even had a best friend who would try to save her boggles the mind. It was a story which needed to be told. It is worth reading but a challenging story to get through.
