Get me to the church on time!

Not so much the church as the patio. And not if Ellison can’t stop finding bodies.

She’s finding corpses in pairs now, and planning a wedding, and trying (truly, she is) to steer clear of the murder investigation. But when she finds a third body, Ellison becomes a suspect.

Will Ellison get her happily ever after, or will a devious killer turn her wedding into a funeral?

Fun

Love this series! The narration is a perfect match; I can’t imagine anyone else doing Ellison’s voice!

Lyon Eyes

Julie Mulhern did it again! This book has fun, laughter, and a wedding. But it is a mystery that kept me we guessing. This book like her others made me laugh out. My only question is when is the next one?! I recommend this book to help you escape for a bit. Also I really enjoy the narrator.

5 stars

I love this series. The characters are engaging and the story is entertaining. Julie Mulhern does a great job of comparing contemporary women's issues with issues that existed in the 70s. She also never lets it interfere with the plot and weigh it down. This is one of the best cozy mysteries and I highly recommend it.

Usual murders but always fun

OK, so we all know these books are totally unrealistic. They are great for a beach read or when you really don’t want to have to concentrate and just have a break. I enjoy these books – they’re well written and amusing. The only thing that is driving me crazy is we’re into almost the end of the series and the lead character still lets her mother manipulate and freaks out over everything that she does. Really? Your 40 years old. Enough already. I know it’s the 1970s, but come on grow up. That gets a little old. It’s a theme throughout all these novels – the lead character is so afraid of her mother. Stop! Otherwise a great read.

This one was good but…

Not as good as many of the others. The story was not quite as compelling as the others, but there was still a good deal of the signature humor that we have been treated to throughout the series. Ellison is still sweet and adorable, her mother still the same old hmm, well…; and Anarchy still heart stopping gorgeous. 5 star narration!

One of these things is not like the others . . .

*PREVIOUS BOOK SPOILERS WARNING* so I have listened to all the previous country club murder books and though time seems to move agonizingly slow - each book has a gaggle of unique characters that keep the story entertaining and funny. The previous book ended with Anarchy just getting out of the hospital after getting shot, in the chest, nicking the aortic. (No one can recover that fast from a gun shot wound to the chest 🙄) but that was last book’s problem. This book starts a week before the wedding, so a day or so from when the last book ended. There is zero mention of Anarchy’s recovery from said gunshot wound, nobody mentions hey maybe you want to postpone the wedding because he almost died a week ago and considering how many times both mothers of the bride and groom bring up postponing the wedding it was a little odd that it was never mentioned. And how is he going back to work a week after getting shot in the chest!? There are ALOT of other little things that happen in the book that just don’t sync up with previous books. Another one was the fact that Anarchy’s mom asks to see Ellison‘s painting room even though, just in the previous book, she had already seen it and given her opinion - so why are they acting like she’s never been in there?! This whole book just feels off. The previous book talks about how much of a flirt Anarchy’s brother is and the author teases about oh just wait till you see him at the wedding 😉 but his brother is an afterthought in this book, actually his whole family is an afterthought in this book. I don’t know. Maybe the author just phoned it in on this book, but to me it just feels like somebody completely different who never read any of the previous books and was only given sort of a guideline of what they needed to write, wrote this book. The performance was perfect as always.
