"Rivers End may be a small town - but the romance is big. This series has everything for readers: humour, romance and the occasional touch of magic." (Eileen Cook, best-selling author of With Malice)
Merry Tremayne loves Christmas in Rivers End. Festivals, food, and family make the holiday magical - which is fantastic, as long as she’s not the one making the magic. The last time she used her Gift to improve someone’s Christmas spirit, it ended in catastrophe. So when she accidentally casts a spell on a grumpy, gorgeous Grinch, she thinks she’s ruined everything. That is, until he kisses her with enough heat to melt a snowman.
For Dillon Clarke, nothing good has ever come from Christmas. But things start looking up when he meets perky, sexy Merry, who’s determined to put the tinsel on his tree and the jingle in his... bells. Together, they might just be able to conquer their fears and begin some new Christmas traditions of their own.
When a Christmas witch meets a gorgeous grinch, sparks fly... literally!

So I related to Dillon Clarke. He was willing to help serve eggnog hot chocolate at the winter festival in Rivers End, but it didn’t mean he had to like it. He could watch Merry Tremayne do a good deed and acknowledge it while maintaining his grumpy façade. When he’s able to give her a drink to make up for his ill humor things take an interesting turn.
Merry’s a witch. She has a small group of close friends who know the truth, but she’s learned to keep her magic to herself. She tried to use her talents once before and it hadn’t turned out well. This time she’s decided to keep her spells to herself. Except she accidentally sets one on Dillon and now she has to stay by his side in case things go sideways. There to rescue the situation, if necessary. And if she gets to spend time with a handsome man? Well, that’s a bonus, right?
This is the story of Super Santa Girl and the Grinch. I think you know which side I was rooting for, but the humor in the story got to me. There was also the touching moment between Dillon and his half-brother that moved me. Sometimes we miss what’s directly in front of us.
There are sexy times, a Christmas tree, and a celebration with family and close friends. In short, everything the holiday is supposed to be about. I enjoyed it and, as always, was glad to spend some time in Rivers End.
Erin Bateman narrates the witch stories for this series and I think she does a commendable job. I enjoy her work very much. There are more friends in the group (or is it a coven?), so I hope there are more stories to come.
