About this listen

There’s no room at the Inn....

Sprightly Victorian spinster Vanessa Latimer is stranded for the holidays in the Scottish Highlands by a relentless winter blizzard. She takes refuge at a centuries-old inn where the only available room is haunted by the ghost of a warrior who fell at Culloden Moor.

One who refuses to give up his side of the bed.

Johnathan de Lohr awakens to find a siren bathing in the chamber of sorrows that keeps his restless spirit imprisoned. Though he’s the ghost, John knows that the captivating woman will be the one to haunt him.

Unless they can figure out a way to set his tormented soul free.

Please note: This novella is also connected to the Victorian Rebels Series

Narration was perfect. Story was great. Need more of these two characters' past, present, and future!

Mystery and Handsome Apparitions

The story was fabulous. I was really worried how a full story could fit into a couple of hours, but Kerrigan Byrne did not disappoint. I walked away swooning over Jonathan and so excited to own this and get to listen again.
Great job on a sexy, Christmasy tale - it’s like a quirky, but possibly more satisfying.

Great job!

Love!!

I wait on tender hooks for each Kerrigan Byrne novel and I thought this was a nice bite-sized treat! The narration is phenomenal. Stella did great but I’ll listen to this again for the deep rumbling sound of Shane’s voice! I’d like more from these two though Perkins will forever hold the keys to my heart.

Such an awesome story!

I was reading through a summary of one of Kathryn le Veque's latest books where she mentions this book. (It being a related story to her de Lohr Dynasty Series.) Of course, being a HUGE Kerrigan Byrne fan, I had to have it and it was so worth getting it! Although it is terribly short, it gives all the satisfaction of a full blown novel. If you love fantasy, love at first sight, strong and well defined characters, beautiful, tender and hot love scenes, get this book now! The brilliant narration by Stella Hunter and Shane East will keep you spellbound till the very last word. Worth so much more than five stars!!

Didn't want it to end

I read this book first (after reading KLV's story about James and you should read it first. An Earl in Winter)and couldn't wait to buy the audio. First, I'm I HUGE Kathryn LeVeque fan, creator of the DeLohr family. So this was a natural for me. Shane was the perfect voice for Jonathan. I'm still swooning. Wish he would do more KLV books. First time listening to Stella. Her voice was very pleasant to listen to. I would listen again.

Loved this story!

I am a huge fan of Shane East and his narration. I discovered his wonderful British voice when I listened to “A Guy Walks Into My Bar” by Lauren Blakely.

This book was brought up often in his official fan group “Shaneiaks”. The phrase “Ghost D**k” was used often so it caught my interest. It was just released on November 17th, 2020. It’s a duet narration between West and Hunter which I have grown to love.

West narrates Johnathan de Lohr who’s a ghost from the past, the century he lived in was before Culloden. Hunter narrates Vanessa Latimer, a spinster who’s on her way to Inverness to photograph Loch Ness. When her carriage has a broken wheel, she has no choice but to walk until she finds refuge in a centuries old inn. The inn where Johnathan’s ghost is at.

While this book is set in the past, there’s a lot of the present in it. I haven’t read much historical romances before, other than the Outlander series, and I can’t wait to read more. Byrne wrote a wonderful novella for her Victorian Rebels Series. I will definitely be going back to read more of her work.

good things come in small packages

Wow this sweet little story hit all my buttons...historical, romance, fantasies I've dreamed of and ones I never thought of and since this is an audible review, an excellent male voice. Male voices make or break an audio book for me, like seriously. I am way more flexible w female voices as long as a male is doing a duet w her, as in this case. I will not listen to a book where a female tries her level best to do a male voice...nope just aint happening for this gal (but I can listen to a male do a female voice, weird I know lol) I must have a strong male voice done by a male...and it must be done well, again as in this case. Shane did a fabulous job. Derek is my favorite but if I could choose a backup voice for Kerrigans books, Shane would be my pick. Stella did a superb job as the female. Im also the type of gal who will listen to the same books over and over and over (more weirdness lol) and this little story made me tear up every time. Hats off to Audible for giving us picky listeners a chance to hear both voices in the preview, that's what helped me purchase!

Wonderful!

This was a very enjoyable Christmas story. Although short and concise, I loved the mystery and magic of the romance. Both narrators were very good. I know I’ll listen again.
