Publisher's summary

The business proposition that could destroy them...or bring them closer than ever.

Zachary is a brilliant architect, considered to be an artist on blueprints. When the chance of a lifetime comes along, he can’t say no to it. Even if it means running a handsome, young stranger into the ground to succeed.

Lucas is the reserved owner of Castle Harbor’s only lodging - an inn left to him by his parents. His temper flares when he hears rumors of a resort coming to the island. Yet, when he meets the architect behind the plans, those flames become a sizzle that he can’t ignore.

When these men clash, will the resort project manage to stay standing? Or will they end up in a bed and breakfast situation all their own?

This gay romance audiobook and every audio other book in the series can be listened to in any order and is intended for adults only.

Enjoyable story of conflicting goals and emotions

Really enjoyable story! I love the way the author fully explains each characters' thoughts, desires, needs, and motivations. There are no villains here. Both men are just trying to live the best lives they can, balancing their own needs and trying not to hurt each others' interests. Sometimes it isn't easy to make everyone happy. I love the way it works out for everyone in the end.

Great narration. Each character's voice is distinct and it was easy to tell them apart. Good, clear delivery and well-paced.

Another sweet story!

This audiobook provided in exchange for an honest review.

Audiobook narration: I thought the narrator, Alexander Collins, did a good job of voicing the different characters. The pitch and tone of the characters were varied enough to distinguish them. However, at times the voices for Zach and Lucas sounded the same if they were talking to each other. Overall a satisfying performance.

Story: This is the second book in the Castle Harbor series. I enjoyed the story of Zach and Lucas much more than Jesse and Braden’s story. Both Zach and Lucas were more personally invested in what the resort would mean to each of their lives. Zach is the architect working for Blue Star, hired to design the new resort. He also has family he has to take care of so he really needs to succeed. Lucas owns and runs the local Bed & Breakfast, where Zach is staying, and Lucas is sure he will be put out of business when the resort is opened. At the same time, they are fighting an attraction to each other which both felt wasn’t going to go anywhere. The emotional struggle was more involved as each tried to find a common ground to move together towards something more meaningful but unable reach it. The details of each of their lives enriched the story and made the characters seem more complex and interesting. Definitely recommend checking this out!

Making Plans...for something more?

Story/Overall: Like the tagline says, "The business proposition that could destroy them... or bring them closer than ever." Making Plans by JP Oliver is an mm contemporary romance that basically picks up where book one left off (more so in the middle of book one). It's about Zachary, the talented architect and Lucas, the business owner of the only lodging in Castle Harbor and their chance (and not so pleasant) meeting. You see, Lucas is furious when he hears about the resort because that means he'll be losing business, and Zachary isn't letting this opportunity slide without a fight, so when they meet face to face, it can only mean trouble (wink*wink)!

I enjoyed getting to know Zach and Lucas because their own involvement, although different, are really for the same reason. Zach supports his sister and nephew and Lucas was given the inn from his parents, so both are passionate behind their reasons about the resort: family. Before they learn what the other's real intentions are, they happen to meet when Zach checks into Lucas' inn and the insta chemistry is there; there's no denying the attraction these two have but once the truth is out, Zach and Lucas start fighting the attraction they have, which ends up becoming more of an emotional struggle because they feel like their families are at stake here. I feel like it progresses from the emotional struggle on doing the right thing to meeting half way or somewhere in the middle so that they both get what they want and can succeed without hurting the other.

Narrator: I'll always say this because to me it's somewhat important, depending on the narrator but I most certainly do love dual narration over solo narration because you can actually hear the difference in characters and their personas. However, I will not turn away from solo narrators who narrate two males, I actually have a list of my all time favs who I've only listened to them narrate two voices. I enjoy it when I can hear them differentiate between the two, it helps when the chapters don't indicate who's POV we're listening or reading to. With that said (yes I'm spoiled when it come to narrators) Alexander Collins did a good job of voicing the characters. His tone did vary when he narrated the two MCs enough to distinguish them, but I did catch the times his voices for Zach and Lucas sounded the same but it was very few times so it didn't effect my listening experience. I liked to hear more from this narrator in the future. Overall 4.5 stars for Making Plans. Happy listening all!

Zachary & Lucas

I really enjoyed the story of Zach and Lucas, especially after meeting them in the first book. They actually have a lot in common but are on total opposite sides of the fence. They have incredible chemistry but try to fight it because of their opposing views as far as the resort goes and they each are fighting for their family's future. I enjoyed watching them grow closer even as they tried not to and they were somehow able to compromise. The narrator did a good job with the story and the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Luke and Zack Making Plans

This was a sweet, loving and well written story. Making Plans is book 2 in the Castle Harbor series and revolves around Zack and Luke.
Zack is coming in on the premise of making life better by building up Castle Harbor in conjunction with his boss and their company.
This is originally unknown to Luke, who owns the B&B. Both Luke and Zack meet and sparks fly in many ways.
I recommend this great story and advise you get it to learn what finally happens to Luke, Zack and Castle Harbor!

Make Plans To Love "Making Plans"

I have been waiting on this one to come out in audio. Finally Lucas and Zach get to fight it out.
Lucas loves his Bed and Breakfast he inherited from his parents. When the two strangers come to stay at the inn he wonders what their deal is, but he is so attracted to Zach. Then he finds out they are with Blue Star and Zach is designing the luxury resort that is going to be built and put him out of business. Lucas goes from the congenial host to the rude innkeeper. He is angry at himself for still being drawn to Zach and Zach is the architect that will destroy Lucas' life. But on the other hand if the fight against the resort is won Zach will lost his job. Neither of them wins without the other losing. They both believe so much in family and are helping to support their sisters and kids. Zach feels so guilty about what will happen to Lucas' business after the resort is finished.
Both men are floored by a kissed that knocks their socks off. Then one night Zach is coming in from the city in the middle of the night sneaking into the Inn and stubbing his toe. He screams and wakes up Lucas who comes out in boxer briefs and nothing else with a bat. Lets just say Zach doesn't make it upstairs to his room. The sex is hot, but they still have their issues and other people aren't making things any easier.
Its a long road, but Lucas fights for his man and their HEA.

Compelling 2nd entry in Castle Harbor series

Picking up where the last installment left off, this entry continues the Castle Harbor saga with Zach (the architect of the new resort) tangling with Lucas (the owner of the B&B that might get put out of business by said new resort).

Will they start out as casual acquaintances? Become enemies when each one realizes what the other is up to you? End up as lovers when they reluctantly reconcile their differences? Of course! But this is a trip worth taking. Zach and Lucas are proud, all-too-human guys who take a while to understand they are more alike than they think.

J.P. Oliver has written another compelling love story, and Alexander Collins does a great job of narrating it.

Great Story, Narration So So

This actually a really good series however the narrator does not do enough to bring the MCs to life. Main problem is no distinction between the two however he does a great job with side characters like the sisters. If you want a quick listen I still recommend listening.

Loved it

This is the second book in the Castle Harbor Series with developed characters (enemies to lovers). Both Zach and Luke are honest caring men, whose main focus is their families. This was a fun and enjoyable read. I love this series so far. The narration was okay
