About this listen

The perfect life becomes the perfect nightmare in a twisting novel of psychological suspense from #1 USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Jaynes…

Dr. Daniel Winters is living a fairy-tale life. He has a beachfront home in Malibu, a career as a respected pediatrician at a thriving Los Angeles practice, and a gorgeous new wife, Mia. For a man whose past was rife with mental illness, addiction, and thoughts of suicide, it seems too good to be true.

Then Daniel learns that a fellow pediatrician and his family were found slaughtered in their home. It’s just the first chip in the facade of Daniel’s perfect life. Little by little, everything starts to fall away. At work, his career becomes at risk when he’s asked to remain silent about a dangerous new drug. At home, Mia has gone from an affectionate newlywed to a mysterious woman carefully hiding secrets - and possibly a lover.

Then, another doctor is found dead, and as Mia’s behavior becomes increasingly suspicious, Daniel begins to wonder: Is paranoia getting the best of him...or has his fairy-tale life become a nightmare worse than he could have ever imagined?

The other four Jennifer Jaynes novels in my Audible library have been variable in quality. I do especially like her Stranger series especially Book 2. Malice is an outstanding psychological thriller with excellent narration.

Great psychological thriller!

loved Malice. It's a good crime/mystery story. A bit on the predictable side but worth the listen. I enjoyed every chapter. I hoped for a different ending but I can still imagine the ending that I wanted.

Great story

The book had a good story line, it dragged a bit in the middle. A couple times a fell asleep while the book was reading and found i didn't need to rewind to understand what i missed. It keep me engaged however it ended abruptly and i felt like, that's it? Normally i can predict the ending of a story and this one, i did not so to me that's a sign of a good book.

Good Story Line, Ends Abruptly

I genuinely liked this audiobook. Suspense/Domestic Thriller is my genre of choice and I listen to about 3 - 4 of them a month. This one hooked me early on and I was always excited to get back in my car to find out what happens next. There were a few moments that actually shocked me.

It's nothing SPECTACULAR and it won't be your favorite book of the year, but if you're looking for something to keep you on the edge of your seat for a bit, this is a good choice.

Thoroughly Entertaining

I’ve found a new author to love! Jennifer Jaynes takes you on one hell of a ride with this one. It feels like a story that could be ripped from the headlines, the subject matter is frighteningly real. And the ending...whew! Let’s just say, it’s realistic, not a fairy tale. If Ms. Jaynes wrote a follow up to Malice, I would read it on the first day of its release.

For now, I’m going to acquaint myself with her other books.

Happy reading!

A definite page turner!

This story will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. Plus the narrator Jane Oppenheimer will help keep you there.
Well written with lots of drama, suspense, and controversy. A newly married Dr. Daniel Winters finds that while he is on his honeymoon a new drug is being prescribed and adverse effects have him worried, not only that he is concerned with his new wife, who is sneaking behind his back, but I’m not saying anymore spoiler I am not. Just know you won’t go wrong with this one if you enjoy all of the above.

Different kind of suspense

BEST SELLING AUTHOR JENNIFER JAYNES FOUND DEAD AFTER WRITING ABOUT CORRUPTION IN VACCINE INDUSTRY (2 gunshots to the head) Nov.29/19
Her book apparently spoke a little too much truth. She tried to tell us in a novel of the danger, now educate yourself - nobody can do it for you - on how FDA scientists are paid for by big pharma companies.

CORRUPTION IN VACCINE INDUSTRY a must read

Author could have done so much more with this subject. As a parent I was nervous and rethinking vaccines but the ending of the story Really did not do the entire story Justice. It was almost like she was fresh out of ideas.

It was great and then…
