Publisher's summary

Dickens

My tranquility is shattered when a motorcycle repair shop moves in next to my bookstore. All I want is peace and quiet. What I get is gunning engines and '80s rock music. One of us has got to go, and since I was here first, it’s the hot mechanic.

SpikeI chose Mission City to set up shop because of the weekend-enthusiast riders. I’ve dreamed of owning my own shop for years, and no one is going to run me out of town. Least of all the adorable geek Bookstore Dude.

This 25k gay romance novella is a true instalove, enemies to lovers, opposites attract story with a cuddly cat named Aristotle.

Good Listen

I really enjoyed this audio. I had not read the book yet before I listened to it. So this was a brand new one for me. I enjoyed the charters a lot. The storyline was really good and kept my attention throughout the book. The narrator did such an amazing job on this one.

I Enjoyed It

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, quick read. Wonderful characters. I really liked bookstore owner Dickens, and motorcycle shop owner Spike. They had great chemistry. I also really loved Sunshine. She was such a great character! I wish this were longer so I could get to know the characters more and see their relationship build. Overall a really nice story.

After reading this ebook in August, I had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook. The narrator Michael Dean did a wonderful job with the different voices- I especially loved Spike's. Listening to the story was even more fun than reading it.

Short instalove enemies to lovers novella

A short instalove novella between neighbors, an uptight bookstore owner and new to town mechanic/bike shop owner. This was luke warm on the enemies to lovers aspect, and a bit too short to really become invested in the pair. There's also a cameo for a previous couple that if you didn't read this standalone, you may be left a tiny bit confused.

Overall, this had "this is a book and I read it" energy. Not bad, middle of the pack, unfortunately a forgettable one.

I received an audiobook arc from GRR in exchange for an honest review.

Clash of the opposites

This was entertaining. I enjoyed the by play between the characters. There are a few holes in the storyline but it is a short story. The narration was perfect.

A lovely opposites attract story.

And, oh boy!, are Dickens and Spike opposite! Dickens, the nerdy bookshop owner and Spike, the motorcycle repair shop owner who love fast and loud bikes and blaring loud music, which Dickens just HATES. Being neighbours, both with their shops and living arrangements makes them start on a very rocky start, and the insta-lust that catches them both does nothing but kindle the flame of their annoyance.
The story is on the shorter side so their going from annoyance to lust to romance is really a whirlwind, but written in a very pleasant and catching manner, as it’s Gabbi Grey’s style.
Michael dean seals the deal with one of his great performances!

Punny title!

This is a short and sweet listen. I loved the punny title and think it is very clever. The narrator does a good job with the storyline. Spike and Dickens are so cute!

Opposites attract

Spike and Dickens aren’t really all that different. One is just used to a certain way and has gotten a bit stuck. Spike may be run a motorcycle shop and be a mechanic, but that doesn’t mean he is a meathead. Dickens has to learn to let his assumptions go. His character bugged me a bit because he was a bit of a diva and a little unreasonable. I liked Spike. Michael Dean always does a good job with the narration no matter the story. He is one of the good ones.

So enjoyable!

Michael Dean does a wonderful job of narrating Page Against the Machine.
What a treat! The story of Fritz and Dickens is filled with love, loud music, roaring engines and is such a fun book to read.

Although their first meeting doesn't exactly go well the heat and chemistry between these two is impossible to miss.

These two are most certainly a pair of opposites that attract.
This novella will leave you with a smile on your face.
