About this listen

In the third captivating Enchanted Garden Mystery from Bailey Cattrell, Elliana Allbright will need to dig up clues from the past to weed out a killer....

Elliana Allbright is happy running her perfume shop, Scents & Nonsense, in the charming town of Poppyville, California. And she's even happier when she can use her inherited abilities to infuse her perfumes with an extra special something that eases woes or solves problems for her customers. But she'll need those abilities and more when murder comes to town.

Ellie and her women's business group, the Greenstockings, are helping to open a new museum about local history, and while sorting through the collection of artifacts, they discover a time capsule from the days of the Gold Rush. Among the contents is a strange botanical manuscript, recognized by local history professor Eureka Sanford as extremely rare and valuable. When the professor is found dead in the museum, Ellie has no choice but to sniff out the murderer...but this one may have roots that are as old as Poppyville.

Flower lore interwoven with intrigue!

Good story. Wonderful information about flowers and their essences told with love and appreciation, interwoven within the plot...and that's what I liked best about the book. I would have enjoyed it more had it been read with less speed, more deliberate-ness and correct phrasing. I would love more books in this vein from Bailey Cantrell.

GREAT READ - I HAVE MISSED THESE CHARACTERS

THE ENCHANTED GARDEN SERIES IS AMONG MY FAVORITES. JUST ENOUGH "WOO WOO" TO MAKE IT FUN AND THE SAME FOR ROMANCE AND PLANT LORE. IF ONLY WE DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR THE NEXT ONE. HINT HINT

ok

This is an ok book. The characters are too perfect which is annoying, but, other than that it's a pretty good cozy mystery.

Disappointing

I've waited a long time for the next book in this series but it didn't feel like it belonged. The other books were more gentle and lilting in their dialogue and focussed far more on the plant lore, fairy houses, and her own small house. The reunion between the main character and Ritter was false and overall the book was aggressive making it seem like every other cozy mystery out there. Hope the next one goes back to its roots.
