About this listen

The New York Times best-selling author Gail Carriger, writing as G. L. Carriger, brings her comedic voice to contemporary fiction and m/m romance.

Alex, marine biologist and werewolf, has seen better days. Unexpectedly alive, secretly gay, and haunted by a meddlesome, matchmaking ghost, he must now team up with very flirty mermen to save the city from sushi smugglers - and he still can't get a date.

A full cast of science-fiction and fantasy luminaries join together to bring Gail Carriger's short and sweet LGBTQ love story to life with full production audio by ArtisticWhispers Productions and original score by composer Danny Schade.

This is the prequel to The Sumage Solution.

Delicate sensibilities? This audiobook contains confused lovelorn werewolves and very pretty ex-Goth mermen who are exclusively interested in each other. May also contain fish, Irish mafia, and a shocking lack of tea.

for this book being so short, it did an amazing job of showing the origin of our favorite queer alpha

cute as hell

Ok so I liked this book but the pronunciation of “Marin” is wrong throughout (not a hard “a”, it’s m-ah-rin)-considering I live in Marin County, it drove me nuts. It’s seems kinda basic production to make sure the places are pronounced correctly.

Check pronunciation!!!!!

I love this novella prequel! It’s one of my favorites and I’m excited that the audio version is so satisfying.
Great story, great cast! Highly recommended for fans of m/m paranormal

Fun!

It's a good short story that serves as a prequel for the San Andreas Shifters series with Alex and Marvin.

BUT there are a huge amount of sound effects and background noises and music and voice tuning including screams that can be annoying, startling, and overshadow the vocal performance.

Good, but a heads up...

Marine Biology by G L Carriger
Prequel to the San Andreas shifters series.
Paranormal M-M novella.
Funny and sarcastic. A werewolf pack, mermen, a selkie and ghost. Quite a cast of characters.

I had no knowledge of the series so to me this was a short shifter story setting up some world building. Easy to follow and laugh at the intended humor throughout.
I listened to an amusing audio version which was done by a variety of performers with sound effects.

Marvin knows what he wants, contrast with Alec in his denial and antics ensue. Cute as! light and fluffy and fun in all the right ways. I cant wait to see what happens next.

A true delight

Seems a little stilted or blocky? Good story though, very cute. I will definitely continue the story though because it did have enough to keep me wanting more.

I really enjoyed the story itself but full cast recordings aren't really my thing. The performances were ok, nothing special IMO.

Loved the story

The story is fun. You'll never be able to forget you're listening to actors reading a script, though--the voices never quite come across as natural. I think I've determined I'm not a fan of cast recordings.

Slightly awkward

This story is a prequel to the San Andreas Shifters. I loved that series, unfortunately this audio book was done in a different style from the rest of the series with multiple voices & sound effects. The “full cast” style is jarring & disjointed. The sound effects are distracting & in my opinion do not add to the story. I almost didn’t finish the book.
Better to read it in “book” form.

This was not up to par!
